#WorkplaceDiscrimination #EmployeeRights #HRComplaint #SupportNeeded
Hey everyone, I need some advice on a sticky situation at work 💼. I filed a discrimination claim after being called a horrible slur by my old boss, he got fired, and now the new boss seems to be afraid of me 😟. But here’s the kicker – the assistant under the old boss is now the new Administrator and causing me all kinds of trouble 🤦♂️.
Here’s the rundown:
– I’ve been verbally attacked by a lower-ranked employee on multiple occasions
– My boss hasn’t done anything about it, despite witnesses and security cameras
– I’ve reported the harassment, but nothing has been done so far
– The whole situation is taking a toll on my mental health and I don’t know what steps to take next 😔
So, here’s my question for you all: what would you do in my shoes? I’m hesitant to escalate the situation further, but I can’t continue to work in a toxic environment. Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated 🙏. Let’s help each other out and create a positive workplace for everyone!
You have credible complaints, it sounds like. You’re not a complainer when they’re things like racial slurs and physically intimidating you! You should go to HR and discuss what your company expects in terms of behavior towards coworkers.
I have to wonder if this pleb who’s being aggressive with you scares the management in some way. Like they’re concerned firing him may end violently or something. It’s not normal for nobody to want to investigate or get rid of someone who acts like that.
Your boss sounds weak more than afraid of you in particular.
Go to hr again or stand up for yourself. If you get in trouble for speaking up, your boss will have to intervene then. And I understand not wanting to be known as the “complaint girl” but sitting on it is only causing you distress.
I’d make one final effort to speak with HR and provide supporting documentation. Advise them that you’d like them to conduct a formal investigation. If they don’t begin interviewing others, contact the EEOC.
First of all I’m sorry you’re going through this. They want you to quit. And I see you’re in Florida one of the worst states to be in when going through something like this. Document everything, send emails and BCC it to yourself. I would hire an attorney.
Write to HR and add all the emails you had originally sent to your boss with a timeline of inaction.
Your boss should have gone directly to HR on first complaint of this extremely aggressive employee.
Your boss will not be doing the investigation. HR will and should be who you go to with these egregious situations.
I’m sorry this is happening to you. You’re not “the complaint girl” these are egregious errors and offenses.
