Hey there! 🌟
So, I find myself at a crossroads – a cushy job with low expectations, or a new senior network engineer position with higher pay and new challenges. It’s a tough decision, and I’d love to hear from some wiser folks who may have some insight. Here are some thoughts that have been swirling around my head:
– I feel like my skills are atrophying in my current job
– The new job seems exciting, but the responsibility is intimidating
– Imposter syndrome vs. actual skill deficit – where’s the line?
I know I’m lucky to have these options, but it’s still a big decision. Have you ever been in a similar situation? What advice would you give to someone facing this dilemma?
Personally, I think that stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to personal growth and new opportunities. Maybe taking a chance on the new job could be worth it in the long run? What do you think? 🤔
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Let’s start a conversation! 🚀
Do you have savings to fall back on, and how long do you think it’d take you to find a job that’s similar to what you have now?
Take the higher paying job, no one is expected you to know the ins and outs of another company’s infrastructure/ network topology. Are you the only person as a senior? Do you understand what is being asked and just feel insecure about the work?
