Hey job seekers! 🧐 Let’s talk about the frustrations of using Indeed for job searching. Are you finding that Indeed has zero jobs or the same jobs keep popping up no matter how many times you refresh your search? Have you applied to numerous jobs through Indeed only to be met with radio silence from potential employers? 😩
Here are some tips to make your job search on Indeed more effective:
– Expand your search criteria: Try using different keywords or adjusting your location settings to see a greater variety of job listings.
– Utilize Indeed’s advanced search options: Narrow down your search results using filters such as job type, salary range, or company size.
– Save job searches and set up email alerts: Stay updated on new job postings relevant to your interests and qualifications.
– Network outside of Indeed: Don’t rely solely on one job platform. Reach out to contacts in your industry and explore other job search websites.
Remember, job searching can be a challenging process, but with the right strategies and persistence, you can overcome these obstacles. Have you faced similar frustrations with Indeed? LinkedIn and Indeed. Nothing. Fucking crickets all round. Must have some bots generating adverts to suck people in.
Once in awhile I’ll click a job on LinkedIn and it’ll redirect to Indeed. I just click back and move on to the next.
There is a ton of data mining job posts out there as well.
I don’t understand the Indeed job listings that redirect to the company website where you go through the whole song and dance applying. Wasn’t Indeed supposed to make the ordeal easier?
I have gotten responses from Indeed, but a lot have been bait and switch. The job posting indicates Full time, but when they contact you to set up an interview it’s only part time. I’m not about to leave my current part-time job that is at least 30 hours a week for a part time job that pays 50 cents to a dollar more for only 10 to 16 hours a week. Then there is the expectation of weekend availability for multiple jobs, and that prevents me from having 2 part time jobs due to the hours they need you being at the exact same time, and trying to negotiate with result in loosing a large amount of hours from one of those jobs. They other one is jobs that were posted 30+ days ago, it comes up in you feed and get a little feeling of hope, only to notice when it was posted. Don’t get me started on jobs where they say they are willing to train anyone and can’t even send you a rejection e-mail.
So do I
Indeed is more in the data mining, scraping and selling business than posting actual jobs. It trawls all the job sites in existence and reposts them. It’s chock full of spam, scams, and non existent jobs.
Indeed EZ apply was supposed to make it easier. I’m a recruiter and I would only useEZ apply because the company has to pay for each individual posting, which they won’t do if it’s not an active, open job (and it won’t redirect you to the company site).
But by and large Indeed is the absolute worst. It’s a waste of time. I hate recruitment nowadays. It’s just a hot ass mess.
I have learned to cross check each Indeed job posting to see when the exact same position was posted on LinkedIn (often awhile back) and how many applicants there are (often in the hundreds(
I hate the companies’ own application websites more.
I deleted my indeed account a while ago. Indeed was okay when I was looking for food jobs, and even then it wasnt the best.
Got nothing but scam offers on Indeed.
Yes, Indeed is completely fake. The jobs are bot-generated or data-mining scams. Same with LinkedIn. 99% fake.
I’m really tired of getting spam calls and emails from fake recruiters. It’s truly a disappointment. The actual amount of jobs out there is minimal.
Indeed scrapes for job posts. More jobs = more candidates = more data to give to paying employers
I have gotten hired at Walmart thru Indeed but it redirected me to their Workday. But that season where I worked for them they had huge turnovers in their various stores in my area.
Indeed and LinkedIn are both piles of steaming funking shit
I run out of jobs to apply for after about 30 min each day, after 1-2 pages of listings. Might apply to 1 or 2 jobs a day out of that seem like a good fit.
Rarely hear anything.
People say “just apply to everything, you’ll get something”, but there is hardly anything out there to apply to!
I’ve had more people offer to critique my resume, for a fee….when I’m unemployed and worried about how I’m gonna make rent this month, but surrre, I can give you 59.99 to have my resume critiqued by some snooty resume cheat, who will get me in somewhere where I find I’m in over my head because they lied.
I just can’t anymore. It’s getting to be like walking through Dave Chappelle’s “if the Internet were a real place” skit.
All the scammers, and resume hawks who want to tell you how bad your resume is, and guilt you into falling for their BS.
“Hey, buddy buddy buddy”. 😡
As someone who is using indeed to find candidates, this is very troubling. 🙁 😞
What kind of jobs are you applying to on Indeed? I hate Indeed as well, but out of my last four jobs I’ve found all of them on Indeed. Nothing but crickets on LinkedIn for me. Even when applying on the company’s official web sites.
I hate both indeed and LinkedIn. I get DM’ed and the ghosted by recruiters
I’ve had good luck with ZipRecruiter
