Are you someone who frequents a particular restaurant? 🍽️ Maybe you have a favorite spot where the staff knows your order before you even sit down. Or perhaps you find yourself at the same bar every weekend, mingling with the familiar faces around you. 🍻
The concept of being a regular at a restaurant versus a bar can evoke different emotions and perceptions from those around us. Let’s dive into this intriguing topic and explore why being considered a regular at a restaurant may be more acceptable than being a regular at the bar. 🤔
The Comfort of Familiarity
When you’re a regular at a restaurant, it signifies that you enjoy the food, ambiance, and service enough to keep coming back. It’s a sign of loyalty and appreciation for what the establishment has to offer. 🥂 On the other hand, being a regular at a bar might raise eyebrows and prompt questions about your drinking habits. It can be perceived as indulging in excessive alcohol consumption rather than simply enjoying a social outing. 🍸
Social Stigma
Society often places a negative stigma on bar regulars, associating them with heavy drinking and unhealthy behavior. 🍹 In contrast, being a regular at a restaurant is seen as merely enjoying good food with friends or family. It’s a wholesome activity that can be shared with loved ones without judgment or scrutiny. 🍝
Personal Preferences
Some individuals may feel more comfortable in a relaxed restaurant setting, where they can savor a delicious meal and unwind after a long day. 🍕 Others might prefer the lively atmosphere of a bar, where they can socialize, dance, and have a few drinks with friends. It ultimately comes down to personal preferences and how you choose to spend your leisure time. 🎉
Conclusion
In conclusion, being considered a regular at a restaurant is generally more socially acceptable than being a regular at the bar. 🍷 While both scenarios involve frequenting the same establishment, the perceptions and expectations surrounding restaurant regulars are often more positive and favorable. It’s essential to embrace your preferences and activities that bring you joy without worrying about societal norms or judgments. 🥳
Whether you’re a restaurant regular or a bar enthusiast, remember that it’s important to surround yourself with people who appreciate and support you for who you are. 🌟 Embrace your individuality and enjoy your favorite spots without hesitation or reservations. Cheers to being unapologetically you! 🥂🌺
It’s more common the other way around in the UK.
Which is more acceptable than being considered a regular at the local jail.
“Good afternoon, everybody.”
“Norm!!!!”
Yes eating is a wider accepted activity than drinking…
Trick for the not-so-wealthy: Frequently get drunk off cheap drinks at a fancy restaurant, and make a quiet fool of yourself every time, without being bad enough to warrant getting kicked out, but enough that the employees recognize you.
When you take a date there, the date will be impressed by the expensive setting, and when people start chuckling at the site of you, going, “Not you again! Haha! How are you?” and looking at your date going, “*You know this guy/gal?!*” Your date will know for certain you go there all the time, because everyone is so jovial with you, and your date will wonder how you can afford to frequent a place like that. Add a little mystery.
Yeah and you know why.
Acceptable to who? I demand to know who makes these rules that shower thoughts keep telling me about
Bullshit. I tip my bartenders well so I’m happy with being a regular at the bar
depends on who you hang out with
I’ve never made a meme, but I would use the Drake meme for the difference between being the regular at a bar versus being a regular at a pub.
What about being a regular at the gym?
Eh, they’re both kinda sad in their own way
depends how much you tip
Hey guys, do you ever think about how having a favorite restaurant is more acceptable than being a raging alcoholic?!?!???
Disagree. But then again I try and make myself a regular at one bar in every country I live in.
I’m the regular at my local Walmart. Apparently I’m legendary for always looking pissed off/ depressed. Buddy I am here for milk and a can of green beans I’m not here to smile for you
Depends on the bar, honestly.
Tell me you’re gen-z without telling me you’re gen-z
Eating food is more acceptable than drinking liquor.
Adults with families often drink at restaurants and then drive their families home.
It is a double standard.
This… Isn’t the case? At least not in my culture (USA, urban, west coast)? Like, I’ve never met someone who would find it unacceptable to be a regular at a bar. Bars are primarily social spaces, not getting-drunk spaces — real alcoholics drink at home. Being a bar regular usually means that you like playing pool, or pinball, or that you and a group of buddies like to have beers together after work.
Do you judge people who go to bars?
Was a “regular” at this one place i college. The lads always gave me more than what I paid for, especially at the end of dinner service. I really miss that place.
I disagree. Being a regular at a bar is better. You have good relations with the bartender, you invite your friends and they get better service and a warm reception. Sometimes free drinks and you can order drinks past last call. Being a regular at a restaurant just means your too lazy to cook.
I guess we run with differnet crowds
Strongly disagree. Regular at a bar to me would indicate there is a social circle at that bar, though I guess you could be a lone drunk, but that’s not what I think of (tbf I’m a regular at a bar until I moved out of state and the staff and friends there and myself still miss each other and write/message often). Regular at a restaurant to me indicates probably you have no culinary adventure to your personality and are boring. I do have favorites, but I don’t go enough for any staff to get to know me on sight.
tl;dr bars are about socializing, restaurants are about eating… socializing frequently in the same setting is more acceptable than eating frequently at the same place
