#JobSearch #BackgroundCheck #GoogleYourName
Hey everyone! Have you ever wondered how often hiring managers Google your name before reaching out? 🤔 Well, I recently had an interesting experience that got me thinking about this.
I applied for a job and got an email for an interview. But then, the listing closed on ZipRecruiter and I never heard back. I have a feeling they might have Googled me and found my criminal record, causing them to ghost me. 😕
So, I’m curious – do you think it’s common for employers to Google potential hires? And how much weight do you think they give to what they find online?
Possible solution:
– Keep your online presence professional (LinkedIn, personal website)
– Address any concerns upfront during the interview process

Question: When they offered you an interview date, how short notice was it? Wondering if that was a bit of a test depending on the nature of the job.
I’m in a similar position and I’m in the IT field. We can’t really know who Googles and who doesn’t. I’m considering changing my name. How long have you been looking for work and where are you located?
I do, also call my friends who worked in or around your old employers.
Googled yes. Found you, doubtful unless your name is common. There are 50+ people with my full name in my metro area. You can find me if you know what to look for, but there are hundreds of people with my name.
Depending on your industry, people you’ve worked with already work there and have given their thoughts.
