Hey everyone,
So, I found myself in a tricky situation at work recently. I was asked to write a report with false data by a higher-up who has a history of intimidating behavior. After resisting, I decided to take matters into my own hands and make sure the truth was known, even though it was a risky move. Now, I’m feeling pretty scared about the potential fallout. 😬
Here are a few thoughts that may help me navigate this situation, and hopefully, they can be beneficial to anyone else facing a similar dilemma:
– Keep documentation: Make sure you have evidence of any wrongdoing or unethical behavior, just in case you need to support your actions later on.
– Seek support: Talk to trusted colleagues or mentors about what’s going on. It can help to have a support system in place.
– Stand your ground: Upholding ethical standards is essential, even if it means facing some backlash. Remember, integrity is non-negotiable. 💪
Facing challenges like this can be tough, but staying true to your values is always worth it in the end. Have you ever been in a situation like this at work? How did you handle it? Share your experiences and tips below!
Remember, we’re all in this together. Let’s support each other and strive for a workplace where honesty and integrity are non-negotiable. 💼✨
Stay strong,
[Your Name]
Wow you’re amazing. Dont be scared. You’re smarter than him.
Let us know how it goes! Don’t be scared! You did good. Life doesn’t end if you lose a job anyways.
You’re a brave person! Congratulations for recognizing that the environment you’re in is toxic and standing your ground to ensure people’s safety! You’re an unsung hero!
Hopefully what will happen is that your shady boss will be brought down a peg or two (or fired) but even if that’s not the case, you’ll be able to sleep at night knowing you did your part in preventing who knows how many life-changing injuries.
Also, maybe keep a copy of that report in your personal email…you never know if you might need it in the future.
Best case scenario – he gets reprimanded or fired
Worst case – you get to change to a job without extreme toxicity and daily verbal abuse
I think you have nothing to fear because you win no matter what
Any repercussions on your job take them to court or at least get legal advice
This is Boeing, right?
I’m here for the update
You are smart enough to do the right thing just take a deep breath and keep it up!
Holy shit! Your spine is made of titanium!
Huge props to you for standing up for the right thing
Takes a hell of a lot of courage
This might be a case where HR is your friend. They protect the company from liability and changing test values so a piece of equipment can potentially hurt the general public sounds like a huge liability. Maybe even go to the legal department or the news if the project is big enough
I would say there is a reasonable chance that lawyers could get involved. If that’s a possibility, destroy this post. It can only hurt your case, never help. If you leave it, write no further comments.
You are about to get fired. So what? When the yelling starts, just sit back and enjoy the show. Then yell him you’ll be suing him for workplace violence and perhaps he should go seek professional help. Enjoy your time off until you get another job. You could go to his boss too. Accepting his stress is optional.
**RemindMe! 1 Day “updates”**
Balls of steel you have
I understand that you’re scared but this was 100% the right decision! If nobody in the company takes this seriously, you can always take it to the news. Or you could get a new job. Also, keep in mind that there are whistleblower laws in place for exactly this scenario. Above all, you did good!
Brave as hell. Unsafe products are being pushed on the public all the time these days and it’s only getting worse. We need more people to take a risk and stand up for safety and honesty.
You sound like a badass to me. Keep doing what you’re doing.
You did the right thing. It’s normal to be scared, he’s an aggressive psycho, but let me remind you that you are more than capable of defending yourself, cause your deed here speaks volumes! You did an amazing thing, very brave! You will be scared once you get to work, it will pass once you find out what’s up. If they decide to keep him, and fire you – good for you, a greater opportunity will come your way. If they get rid of him, winner again.
I do advise if he starts being aggressive and yells, you notify him you will be calling the police due to being verbally attacked. Just in case, type the police number in your phone and keep it close by, if he starts yelling. Then just dial and report him. If he gets angrier, create any kind of barrier in between and dial the police.
I applaud you for doing the right thing and reporting the fake results. 🙂
Ah! Today is bring your lawyer to work day! Or your emotional support lawyer. Does your company have a legal department? Invite them with a Discovery catching title in the Subject Field, “Failed tests and subsequent falsifications and forgeries”.
I work in testing/auditing but a different field. You absolutely did the right thing. Never put your principles or integrity on the line or be bullied into what you know to be wrong.
OP you are truly courageous. Well done for standing up to the moron. If you had not people would have died. How many people have died because of this manager?
