Play whatever game makes you happy! A personal story. 🎮
As a gamer in my late 20s, I’ve always believed that age shouldn’t limit the type of games you enjoy playing. I recently had a heartwarming experience that reinforced this belief, and I wanted to share it with you all.
Meeting a Fellow Gamer
I live in an apartment in the United States, and a couple of months ago, I noticed a fellow resident around my age who would regularly game on his Nintendo 3DS in the common area. Whenever I’d walk in, he’d quickly pack up and leave. This made me sad because I always love connecting with other gamers.
Breaking the Ice
A few weeks later, I ran into him in the elevator and decided to strike up a conversation. I mentioned how I enjoyed seeing a fellow gamer in our building and asked him what game he was playing. To my surprise, he was playing Pokémon but seemed embarrassed to be seen playing it as an adult.
Supporting Each Other
I reassured him that there’s nothing wrong with playing Pokémon as an adult and shared that I also play games primarily designed for kids like Crash Bandicoot. This simple conversation led to a friendship between us, and we now regularly hang out and game together.
Encouraging Others
My encounter with this fellow gamer taught me the importance of supporting each other in our gaming choices. It’s essential to remind our fellow gamers that it’s perfectly okay to play whatever game makes them happy, whether it’s Crash Bandicoot, Mario, GTA, Skyrim, Pokémon, Halo, or any other game.
Remember, the beauty of gaming lies in the enjoyment and fun it brings us. So, always help your fellow gamer out and remind them that age should never limit the games they play.
In conclusion, gaming should be a source of joy and relaxation, regardless of the title or genre of the game. So, embrace your gaming preferences and never feel ashamed of playing the games that bring you happiness. Keep playing, keep exploring, and most importantly, keep having fun! 🎮👾
People who gatekeep or belittle video game choices are the worst
Unless it live service game live service game bad and people who play live service game bad people, not real gamers
Ah I agree so much!
I’m literally playing Stardew valley, Dreamlight valley, and borderlands 3 rn lol
Oh and I just downloaded the old chocolatier game on steam bc dammit that was a good game back in the day haha
NO SHAME JUST PLAY WHAT FEELS GOOD
😊
What else would you do? Play Games you don’t like?
Totally agree. No shame in Sex with Hitler.
The 3DS is imo one of the best consoles of all time especially for Pokemon.
Thanks for saying this. I’m sorta that guy. I got yellow on my phone via an emulator (no idea what happened to my original gameboy and yellow cartridge) but I couldn’t bear to be seen playing that in public.
I mean, I play Strawberry Shortcake Summertime Adventure all the way through every year.
Great replayability, easy to learn/hard to master, gore graphics are out of this world.
Also re: “as an adult,” people should be allowed to enjoy whatever they enjoy regardless of age. I always hate the idea that once you hit a certain age you need to just be serious all the time and spend your free time staring at a wall while thinking about taxes or mortgages or whatever. A lot of the things I enjoyed as a kid are still enjoyable, go figure! Brb gonna go watch 90s cartoons.
If someone gave me shit for playing pokemon I’d ohko stab SE that sob
I play anime games and my friends regularly rag on me for it. Then they’ll turn around and play Madden and call of duty for an entire year.
