“Should I leave my chill job for a 10-week internship at a top agency? Need advice! #jobdilemma #internship #careeradvice”
Current Situation:
– Working solo in a small business
– Limited growth opportunities
– Happy but feeling capped
– Low pay and no health benefits
Internship Offer:
– Offer from a top agency
– 10 weeks long
– Opportunity to learn and work with a Fortune 30 company
– Boost for resume
Dilemma:
– Risk of unemployment after internship
– Concerns about burning bridges with current employer
– Future implications for career
What To Do:
– Should I take the leap or stay in my comfort zone?
– Any advice on making this decision?
– How to manage potential risks and opportunities?
For more context, money isn’t really an issue. I’ll be living with my parents after my lease is up in a few months and thankfully won’t have bills at that point so I’m lucky to be in a financial spot where I can make this work. I just don’t want to make a big mistake either way
The internship sounds like an amazing opportunity. Can you talk to your current boss about taking a leave or cutting way back on hours?
If you aren’t going to starve if you don’t convert to full time, I’d take the risk. The younger you are, the easier it is to take shots like this.
Take the new opportunity. From what you said it is a no-brainer. If you are recently out of college, nobody at all will care about some 10 month gig after college. You are the perfect age and point in your life to do these sorts of things.
