Hey there! π So, I recently had a conversation with my manager about my development program at work and got some interesting news. They want to defer their decision about offering me a job until September because of an action plan that wasn’t completed from my previous manager.
Now, I’ve been working hard to avoid repeating past issues and my current manager seems to be on board with my progress. But I can’t help but wonder if this deferment is a subtle way of saying they’ll let me go in September. π
Anyone else been in a similar situation before? Any advice on how to handle this uncertainty? Here’s what I’m thinking:
– Schedule a follow-up meeting with HR to clarify the action plan requirements
– Seek feedback on areas of improvement from both current and previous managers
– Stay proactive and continue to show dedication to your work
I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this! Let’s support each other in navigating these tricky work situations. π #SupportiveCommunity #NavigatingWorkplaceChallenges
Does your manager give you other positive signals that heβs happy with your work? Or do you have a strained relationship? Are there any cost pressures or other external factors? Was the development program a performance improvement plan?
Depending on the tool, it can take a while to get rid of old goals, (it might literally need an approval (click) from your former manager) and some tools can stop you making an offer until all goals are set as complete. So it can take a while to sort out.
