Hey everyone! 👋 I’ve been lurking here for a while and thought it was high time to share my story—from the trenches of the workplace. Let me tell you, my employer is absolutely screwed! 😅
So, I got written up by my *fantastic* manager for… wait for it… taking breaks! Yes, breaks, but he actually thinks that going to the bathroom is a break. Like, seriously? 😳
Here’s a little breakdown of what went down:
- Bathroom break confusion: My manager claims I take 20-minute bathroom breaks. In reality, it’s more like 4-5 trips in a 10-hour shift! 🚽
- Impossible accusations: He’s saying I take 20, 30-minute breaks in a day, equaling a whopping 600 minutes—10 hours! That’s basically my entire shift. 🤦♂️
- Follow-up drama: When I called him out, he sent me home and wrote me up for “too many breaks” without any mention of him sending me away. Classic gaslighting! 👀
- OSHA to the rescue: Instead of curling up in a ball, I fired back with an email, CC’ing HR and included references from OSHA explaining the legality of bathroom breaks. 💪📧
I also work outdoors in the heat—and trust me, hydration is key! 🌞💦 With a new female colleague, we can’t just pop outside to relieve ourselves anymore. Gotta use the Portajohns, which brings its own set of challenges, like possible exposure charges if someone sees us! 😳
So it feels like a clear case of my employer being in the wrong, and honestly, it has me considering the bigger picture of labor rights. Antiwork isn’t just a trend; it’s a movement! ✊
Now, I want to hear from you! Have you ever dealt with ridiculous management practices at work? How did you handle it? Let’s swap stories and maybe even solutions! Here are a few questions to kick off the discussion:
- What’s the most absurd reason you’ve been written up at work?
- How do you navigate workplace policies regarding breaks, especially in demanding jobs?
- Do you think we’re seeing a bigger change in how employees are treated in the workplace? 🤔
Looking forward to hearing everyone’s experiences! And remember, stay strong and keep advocating for your rights! 🙌💼

How are they screwed exactly? Sounds like you both behaved poorly.
Yeah I’m not sure how they’re screwed?
What an idiot.
Don’t you dare math me boy I say boy. If I say you take 20 different 30 minute breaks then I say it’s a true…
They will most likely fire out all staff and replace with minimum wage so this big brain can get a pay raise
So, if you dont have any hard evidence, you’ve got your word against his.
Also, you complained to HR. Probably best to start looking for a new job because you’re now a target.
I have an overactive bladder and probably pee 4-5 times in my ten hour shifts, too. I can hold it for max 4 hours and then it hurts. They can’t fault you for going to the bathroom, if someone did that to me there would be hell to pay because I literally can not go without lol
Also, saying you take 600 minutes worth of breaks a day seems totally made up. Makes no sense. Nobody is getting away with that. Seems like this guy has a personal issue with you
So you used to urinate outside? What kind of work place allows that??!
Bruh. You demanded everything in writing then proceeded to get nothing in writing. You did the writing.
All you did was spit out OSHA rules and your word against his.
Then got HR in on the mic which if you’ve really lurked here like you said you know HR is pro company and pro your supervisor and not you.
They aren’t near as screwed as you think. All you’ve done is well… brought attention to yourself to HR and now your supervisor will probably be sassing the living shit out of you.
🤦♂️ I get the energy. But this is not what you think it’s become from what you’ve said my friend. Sorry you’ve got to deal with a shith ead but I just have to say:
“You’re kidding me right?”
