#JobTransition #ExitInterview #NewBeginnings
Hey everyone! 🌟 So, I just put in my notice today, and wouldn’t you know it? I’m done working already! It’s a bit surreal—like I clocked out and suddenly vanished from the company. Here’s the scoop:
-
The Uncertainty: My employer is left wondering if I’m jumping ship to a competitor. Spoiler alert: I am! 😅 I guess they didn’t expect me to leave so swiftly. I thought agreeing to an exit interview was a good idea, but I held back a lot of my actual feelings about management. Keeping it professional, right? 🤷♀️
-
Instant Disconnection: Within just 15 minutes of finishing my exit interview with HR, all my system access was cut. It honestly felt like I never existed there! This sudden disconnection can leave others feeling unappreciated and confused about their contributions. Have you ever experienced that weird feeling after leaving a job?
- First Days at a New Place: The good news is that I’ll still be getting paid until my new role starts. Phew! 🙌 So here’s to new beginnings! But it makes me think: how can companies improve the exit process to make former employees feel valued and respected during transitions?
Possible Solutions for a Better Exit Experience:
-
Clear Communication: Companies should clearly outline what to expect during the exit process to avoid any sudden surprises. Transparency is key!
-
Genuine Exit Interviews: Encourage honest feedback without the fear of backlash. This can lead to improvements in the workplace for current and future employees.
- Stay Connected: A simple farewell message can leave a lasting impact. Keeping the door open for future encounters may benefit both parties.
So, what are your thoughts? Have you dealt with a similar situation during your transition? Any tips you’d want to share? Let’s discuss your experiences! 😊
Don’t be shocked. Two weeks notice is a courtesy, and that runs in both directions.
>Within 15 minutes of that video exit interview with HR, all of my system access was cut off.
And in a few weeks, should they happen to call to see how you’re doing and by the way, now that I have you on the phone, I have a few questions about the Mayer file…hang up! It happened to me.
You can see if you can start your new job early. Double dip the salary.
It’s not necessarily hostile. If it can’t be 100% confirmed you aren’t going to a competitor, the most responsible thing is to cut off your access. If you aren’t dedicated anymore, they shouldn’t trust you with access to customer accounts or generating product that goes out to clients. As long as they still pay you they aren’t doing anything wrong.
So. It confirms nothing other than you weren’t a valuable member of the team/company. It’s not something I’d advertise.
Why do you think you’re getting paid for two weeks? If we let someone go before their notice period , we don’t past them
Call the new job now! Get the double pay for 2 weeks!
I also handed in my letter of resignation today. Cheers to new beginnings! 🍻
You did it correctly. Writing scathing emails or doing other drama gives the HR department big laughs. I know they collect the manifestos just for the fun of it. Acting like you have a plan going out with your head high makes them nervous.
