Hey fellow recruiters and business development pros in the tech industry! 👋
I’ve been in the game for over a decade now and have successfully onboarded tons of clients through cold outreach. However, in the past few months, it feels like my messages are disappearing into the abyss. 🕳️
Are any of you experiencing the same thing? It’s been quite a change from the usual responses I used to get from companies looking for recruiting services. 🤔
Here are a few possible solutions I’ve been considering:
– Double-checking my messaging to ensure it’s still personalized and engaging
– Trying out different channels or platforms for outreach
– Revisiting my target client list to make sure it’s still relevant and up-to-date
What strategies have you found success with in overcoming this challenge? Let’s share our insights and help each other out! 💡 #Networking #RecruitmentTips
Summer slow down. A lot of companies are doing their mid year headcount and budget planning/adjustments. My sense is that there are a lot of unofficial freezes/hiring slow downs until planning for the second half of the year is finalized. Things may pick back up in several weeks.
Also- from an internal recruiting standpoint, I know we get inundated with so many agency and fractional requests and unfortunately we have no choice but to ignore or decline since our vendor onboarding process is long and we already have preferred vendors. The agency and fractional landscape is also getting saturated it seems….
Start doing different kind of BD- in person events, schmoozing by taking old clients to lunch or, if you had a candidate placed that recently started send them and the client a gift…
Yes, Tech has been crushed and I’ve talked to owners and people who have done this 20+ years who say this is the worst they’ve seen it.
Cold outreach isn’t going to work when the people you’re targeting likely aren’t hiring, or if they are hiring already work with preferred partners.
Instead of spending time sending a mass amount of reach outs comb through your network who you could meet with that could give you the lay of the land of an org and hopefully intros.
Tech candidates are literally a dime a dozen right now. They’re applying in droves. You can’t offer a ROI outside of what hits their ATS every day.
