Used my online banking this morning no problem 🤷🏻♂️
As I keep saying being proven right, we are not ready to go cashless just yet
This is y apple is better
Anyone know if bank machines are affected? I need to go grab some cash but don’t want to waste a trip.
Link/source about people having issues with Canadian banking?
Yes, there is a global issue affecting multiple industries, but day-to-day transactions involving POS/ATMs/credit card processing in Canada are not affected AFAIK.
It’s windows machines, those who have CrowdStrike and only if the latest update got deployed.
Much of banking system’s backend is non-Windows and ancient tech stack which for once is an advantage. Your card will still work and you can buy things.
You should expect delays if you reach out to customer support though as those machines are more likely to be affected.
My Simplii account was fine. TD, not so much lol.
I saw that the outage was caused by Crowdstrike and wanted to go on Investor’s Edge to see if I should buy the stock (it was down 13% at the time). The research and quote functions weren’t working on IE. I guess they use Crowdstrike too.
