Continuing this insane saga of accepting to work at this company last year. My CEO officially announced to the company their departure and I’m still tying up loose ends for their exit. We have a few office staff looking for new jobs, another company trying to poach and an owner who won’t listen to any of us. We can’t even afford a $25k emergency. That’s a problem.
As for me? Still on the hunt for a new job. I landed some interviews and was commended yesterday for taking a horrific year of constant unstable work and making it work. I actually cried after that interview because I’ve felt so invalidated due to taking contract after contract to make it work. I took a $35k pay cut in 2023 due to a contract. (Which makes no sense as I was told and shown the hourly equivalent at 40 was $95k, and my current job is $95k)
## The Situation: Facing Job Uncertainty
Let’s Break it Down:
– CEO resignation causing chaos
– Limited job opportunities
– Financial instability
– Emotional turmoil
Practical Solutions:
– **Update Your Resume:** Tailor your resume to highlight your accomplishments and skills. Use keywords relevant to the job you are applying for.
– **Networking**: Reach out to former colleagues, friends, and industry connections for potential job leads and recommendations.
– **Online Job Portals**: Utilize online job portals to search for job listings and apply for positions that match your qualifications.
– **Skill Development**: Take advantage of online courses or workshops to update your skills and knowledge in your field.
– **Stay Positive**: Keep a positive mindset and believe in your abilities to secure a new job opportunity.
## Moving Forward with Hope
Huge plot twist in my story, the company that hired me 2 years ago but subsequently let me go with multiple reasons (many of which could have been resolved with coaching) after 3 months has posted the same role once again. I had a strong connection to the company and its mission. So naturally, I applied with custom cover letter and resume. I also alerted my friend I referred in 2 years ago to see if he could nudge his director and a couple of managers who liked me when I was there.
I did also email my old manager with an elaboration of taking on harder HR challenges, what I’ve done and worked with, accomplished and more. Most of this has been done to prove I can do the job. As insane as it sounds, if I was offered my old job back I would take it. 2 years ago they were in infancy in HR and no one gave feedback/training well. I was also the happiest I ever was there. Despite the unique challenges of that company.
Either way, wish me luck as the company I am at now has 48 and is gonna be downsized to probably 40 by quarter end.
In conclusion, facing a job hunt amidst a CEO resignation can be a challenging and stressful experience. However, by staying proactive, updating your resume, networking, and maintaining a positive attitude, you can increase your chances of securing a new job opportunity. Remember to believe in yourself and your abilities as you navigate this transition. Good luck on your job search journey! 🌟🤞🏼 #jobsearchsuccess

That isn’t going to happen. You know that isn’t going to happen. Put your eggs in a new basket and keep looking.
I’m going through the second 10% reduction in my first year at my manufacturing place – good luck! You’ll get through it, and you know very well that all the rough stuff will make you come out the other side better for it.
I’m confused by the pay cut thing. How did you take an unexpected 35k pay cut and just…. Not figure out why?
