“Need help after tow company damaged my 60-foot bendy bus in NJ and won’t take responsibility? What can I do next? #NJ #bendybus #towcompany #liability #options”
Hey there,
Stranded with a broken down 60-foot bendy bus in NJ near I-95, I faced a nightmare scenario when 10 tow truck companies refused to help due to its size. Eventually, one was forced by the police to tow it, only to damage it further and now claim no liability. What steps can I take now?
1. Seek Legal Advice
2. Document Damage
3. Contact Insurance
4. File a Complaint
5. Explore Repair Options
6. Demand Accountability

Did you have insurance on the bus? Have you filed a claim with them?
You should contact a lawyer or insurance. Details matter. What does basically forced mean? What does the auto accident (or non criminal damage police report) say about this? (If you don’t have a police report, you need one). This will decide if you have to go after the State or the company.
In many places if a officer orders a action, that action gets indemnified. Did the tow truck sign a contract with you or the state?
The tow company isn’t your friend, they would likely give you that same answer even if they knew they were at fault. (Or they could be right, why take their word)?
The short of this is this will likely take money and time. Only you can decide if it’s worth it, a lawyer can help you make that decision.
