HR is struggling right now. From what I’m seeing a lot of companies are waiting until next year to make HR decisions, taking HR down to teams of one or two, or paying significantly less than what is expected. It is very competitive and hard out there. I’m not seeing it get better (hopefully) until 2025.
Companies are looking more for experience than degrees tbh when it comes to HR. . Get your foot in the door by becoming an admin assistant, etc. Work your way up
I have been applying for jobs lately with 6 years of HR experience and my SHRM-SCP.
I’ve had two offers so far… one for $45,000 a year, and one for $16.38 an hour. I laughed at both of them. Neither job listed the salary range on the job posting, but required degrees and experience.
