Hey everyone! 👋 Need some career advice here. I currently have 2 years of HR experience, one as an HR manager with 2 direct reports. My current job is comfy, but there’s not much room for growth. 🤔
I’ve been offered an analyst position at a bigger company with a shorter commute and a $7k pay increase. Should I take the leap or stick it out for more experience? What would you do in my shoes?
Possible Solutions:
– Consider the long-term growth opportunities at the new company
– Evaluate the potential for learning new skills as an analyst
– Think about the impact of a shorter commute on work-life balance

More pay for less responsibility. Literally the dream.
This isn’t meant to be disparaging, just a comment / observation: if you only have 1-2 years of experience, are you really a “manager”?
Working in compensation myself, I see inflated titles all the time that don’t line up to actual job responsibilities. Although you do manage people, I find it hard to believe you’re a fully fledged “HR Manager”. Who are you learning and growing from? What do you do when you don’t know the answer to something? I suspect you have a CHRO or Director you report into?
It’s also very telling an Analyst role is paying more than your Manager role. I see Analyst level roles a true entry level (or maybe a level above Administrator / Coordinator). This is likely at the end of the day, all things considered, a lateral move.
Being an Analyst feels more appropriate for your experience.
Always stay moving ; always look for the bigger piece of the pie idk
