#GamersHelp #NeedSuggestions #PCGames #CrimeSolving #PointAndClick
Hey there fellow gamers! So I recently stumbled upon the old CSI crime-solving games and I’ve been absolutely hooked! The whole point and click concept just gets me every time. But now I find myself craving for more similar games to dive into. Do you guys have any recommendations based on that? Maybe something with a twist or a different setting? Let me know, I’m all ears! 🕵️♂️🔍💻
And who knows, your suggestion might just become my next gaming obsession! So go ahead, drop your recommendations below and let’s level up our gaming experience together! 🎮✨ #GetInvolved #GameOn
Detroid Become Human and Heavy Rain would be the closest I’d say.
L.A Noire?
Not point and click but you have to solve crimes using evidence and questioning techniques
Condemned 1 and 2
Check out Shadows of Doubt
The aces attorney series is kinda like this but more on the whimsical side. You use evidence and most of the time ene up solving the case.
Hidden gem I recommend is staffers case it’s a world where people have superpowers and you are a regular detective solving multiple cases. It’s really really good
The Danganronpa series is basically a murder mystery solving game where you use clues gathered during a point-and-click investigation period to counter potential suspects’ arguments during a group debate to find out who dunnit.
Disco Elysium is point & click crime solving, but it’s.. more about alcoholism, communism, and anodic dance music.
Carman Sandiego’s Great Chase Through Time
There was a 2008 version of Murder On The Orient Express which is quite good.
Not exactly the same but you should try Wolf Among Us. Esp with the sequel coming.
If you’re into point and click, then try out the Monkey Island games. They’re pretty old, but if you’re into zany, pun ridden adventure games imo they are some of the best.
Dude I fucking loved these games and the show, thought I was the only one. I still watch Vegas lol
I haven’t played those games, so I’m just guessing based on the theme. Most aren’t point and click, but will fit otherwise. I didn’t have too many that were just police procedural so I exteded the selection a bit.
I’ll be using Mark Brown’s definitions of these types of games. If you haven’t seen his two videos on detective games, you should. Some good recs there and also good theory.
Deduction-games:
Lacuna (also the sequel Between Horizons, not as good, but decent). No pixel hunting, just logical deductions.
Detective Grimoire (just the first, personal preference)
Paws of coal (a bit too handholdy, but good for the price)
Return of the obra-dinn
Investigation-games:
No case should remain unsolved
Orwell, keeping an eye on you
Strange Horticulture (weird one, you run a shop and help them with plants – with a plot to stop a cult)
A normal lost phone & another lost phone
Her story
Contradiction-games:
Lucifer within us
As someone else mentioned, Ace Attorney games, but they are more colourful and a bit zany.
If you don’t mind some dated graphics, all the old Lucas Arts point and click games are decent to amazing. Grim Fandango is probably one of my favorite games of all time. Full Throttle, The Secret of Monkey Island series, Indian Jones games. I even enjoyed Loom and The Dig when I was younger.
Myst is an older, eerie puzzle/point and click game that is great too.
At least one or two of the Sherlock Holmes games by various developers are a lot of fun for this, check them out!
Police quest 4
Painscreek Killings and Scene Investigators.
They’re both open a world exploration where you have to find clues yourself and follow where they lead you. Painscreek is a single story and the ending is a little wonky. Scene Investigators is exactly what it sounds like: here’s a crime scene, investigate and draw conclusions. I’m told it is a bit short for it’s cost, however there is a demo available on Steam.
They’ve remastered the blade runner game.
Chicken Police!!
Different but similar; *Return of the Obra Dinn*
The X-Files had a PnC game on the PS1. Sounds weird but I remember it being really good.
the original Doom
I’m disappointed nobody has suggested Case of the Golden Idol yet. It might be a little bit different from what you’re used to with point and click crime-solving, but it’s a fantastic deduction game. The art style and soundtrack are unique and wonderful. The gameplay itself revolves around collecting clues throughout each mission and then correctly arranging them in a partially filled out template to solve whatever crime took place. There are many combinations and if you miss a clue you won’t be able to solve it. The DLC is great as well. I’m very excited for the sequel that’s coming out this year. Highly recommend Case of the Golden Idol for your point and click needs.
