#NonverbalJobs #JobsForAACUsers #NoTalkingJobs
Hey everyone! 👋 I need some help finding a job that doesn’t require much talking. I use AAC and communicating verbally can be a challenge for me. Here’s a bit about my background:
– I have a high school diploma and some college experience.
– I speak French fluently and I currently tutor part-time.
– I’m passionate about French language and culture.
Do you have any suggestions for jobs where I can work without having to talk much? One idea that comes to mind is working as a language translator or interpreter. This could allow you to use your French language skills while minimizing the need for verbal communication. Plus, it could be a fulfilling and engaging role that aligns with your interests. 🇫🇷
Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas! Let’s brainstorm together. ☺️
It highly depends on the employer but generally data entry, writing, janitorial/cleaning job, or any other physical labor job such as yard maintenance person.

Written Translation jobs? – although it may be bad timing for that since AI is rapidly being used as a translator. But something along those lines?
Court reporter – with a high school diploma you can enroll in a court reporting program at a community college, technical school, or through online courses. Court reporters can work in many capacities not just court rooms. Ie Freelance Reporting, Broadcast Captioning, Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART), Webcasting and Videoconferencing, Government Agencies, Corporate Settings, Media and Entertainment, Medical Transcription. Checkout National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) or the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT).

If you can luck into getting one, some library jobs can be very independent and don’t require a lot of talking. For example, mending/repairing or processing books, shelving books. Those aren’t typically full-time positions, though; more ‘quiet’ library positions require the MLS – content selectors, database managers, catalogers, etc.

It’s night shift mostly but specimen accessioner. It’s just data entry and you don’t have to talk to anyone customer service wise. You can just listen to podcasts or your music while you work.
I would think email/text customer service could be great for a company that has a large presence in French Canada and/or France. If you can get in with a SaaS or small tech company, you could have real growth opportunities and likely to work with a lot of people who mostly prefer text anyway.
