Hey everyone,
So, I have my first IT interview coming up on Microsoft Teams, and I’m feeling both excited and nervous! I’ve made it past the phone interview round and now I’m preparing for the next one with the IT admin and ISSO at a tech company that handles Navy submarines.
Here’s a bit about my background and what I’ve been studying to prepare:
– I come from a bartending background with no college education
– I’ve self-educated with Google courses and YouTube
– I have my Security+ certification and I’m working towards Network+
– I have a GitHub portfolio showcasing Wireshark traffic analysis, Active Directory, and ticketing system skills
The last questions I was asked were about DNS, firewalls, and IP addresses. Now I’m wondering what they might ask me in this next round. Any ideas or tips to share? 🤔
I’m diving into every YouTube video I can find to get ready for this opportunity. If anyone has suggestions on what to focus on or potential interview questions, I’d love to hear them! Let’s help each other out in preparing for those IT interviews. 🚀
Good luck to anyone else going through the interview process right now! 🍀
I think second round entry job interviews are more about your thought process on solving a problem and if you would be a good fit/team member and trainable.
Someone comes up to you asking their “computer isn’t working”, what would you do?
Basically, the answer to everything is communication. Ask for more info like “what sort of error prompt” as it could be a hardware or software issue. Could be an internal or external issue. The same goes with working within a team – communication is the key attribute.
