Hey everyone! 😊
Next week, I’m diving into my second year of college, and I’ve been thinking a lot about my next steps. With a clearance, Security+, help desk experience, and some internship experience under my belt, I’m stuck on a big question:
Should I keep pursuing internships or should I jump straight into a full-time job?
- Internships: They’re great for learning and networking. Plus, they have that fun college vibe! 🎉
- Full-time job: I’m super tempted to go for it since I want to move out of my parents’ house. 🏠
I feel a bit torn. On one hand, internships offer valuable experiences and opportunities to grow. On the other hand, a full-time position would help me gain independence and save up for my own place. 💰
Here are some things I’m considering:
- What do you think is the right balance between internships and starting a job?
- Have any of you made this decision before? What worked for you?
- Are there specific roles that could blend both internship experiences and job security?
Any advice would be super helpful! I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Should I continue applying for internships and help desk roles, or take the leap into a full-time position? Let’s discuss! 🙌
How would you do college while working full time?
It sounds like you’ve built a solid foundation with your clearance, Sec+, and help desk experience. If you’re ready to take on more responsibility and want to move out, it might be worth applying for full-time jobs.
However, if you enjoy the learning environment of internships and feel there’s still more to gain, continuing with internships could be beneficial.
Consider your long-term goals and how each option aligns with them. You might even find full-time roles that offer a balance between work and continued learning.
