So, let me tell you a crazy work story. Have you ever been accused of sleeping at work just because you sound tired on the phone at 1am? Well, that’s what my boss thought and that’s just the beginning of this wild ride.
I used to work remote from 9 pm to 5 am and everything was going smoothly until my boss decided to shake things up. He made me work in the office from midnight to 8 am, even though I was perfectly awake during that late-night call. And to make it even better, my shift consisted of staring at a screen with nothing to do.
So, I did what any sane person would do – I quit on the spot without giving any notice. But now, despite all the circumstances, I can’t shake off the feeling that maybe I should have handled things differently.
Do you think I acted appropriately by quitting without notice? Should I have toughed it out and given a month’s notice? Let me know your thoughts because I’m seriously questioning my decision. #JobDrama #QuestioningMyActions #NeedAdvice
Feel free to share your own work horror stories or advice – I’m all ears (or eyes, in this case)! 🤔✨
naw, you’re fine. i’m planning on quitting a shitty job today myself
They would’ve fired you without notice, and they changed your working terms and times without notice. Enjoy moving onto bigger and better things.
Never walk out of a job. Put in your notice and give no reason why.
Sit back and eat the popcorn. Best two weeks of your career at the company. 9-5/M-F or whatever.
Let them even think you’re dying.
Youre a good person to fewl bad about it but remember: no job really cares about you. Best wishes
It really doesn’t matter. Don’t overthink it. You quit and it’s done. You did nothing WRONG to quit. You aren’t a hostage and you can leave a job any time you choose on your own terms unless there was some contract stating otherwise.
Never feel bad when you get mistreated like that. The company did not deserve a 2 week notice.
Just ask yourself, how the boss felt changing your shift and working conditions based off an assumption? They didn’t care so why should you? I feel like you should care if you have a good relationship with them, but they showed you they don’t so you shouldn’t either.
Of all the things you’re going to stress about in life, this should be bottom of the list. Your boss sounds like an ass and there’s no law requiring you to give notice. They brought you back into the office without notice. They would have fired you without notice. Be happy you’re away from it and enjoy your freedom for now.
Did all this happen in the span of like 20 hours? Somethings doesn’t make sense…
If they decided to fire you would they give you a 2 week notice? If you think the answer to this is “yes” then you should feel bad… if “no” then forget it.
Nope screw your boss and screw that trash company – any company that has you doing nothing for 4 days a week (cough cough my job takes about 2-3 hours a day out of 8.5 hours in person 5 days a week)
I wish I could walk out of my garbage job like you did. Major guts.
Fuck them jobs
I quit by giving 1.5 week notice instead of 2. They still hated me. So who gives a f
