No way it sucks!!
If you find the answer to this question, you will definitely be able to sell it and become rich.
Edit: Good Luck though. In all seriousness, being or feeling poor definitely sucks.
You can always go back to school.
Go for money rather than passion. Passion doesn’t pay the bills.
Do not go to college unless you’re certain how it’ll help you. If not, you’re going into debt for no good reason.
You should try to job hop instead. You have the startup experience, try to jump into a higher paying job
What do you do with the current company? Do you still have an interest in film or theater? If so, can you find any overlap that might help you transition to a role that’s a better fit (and with better pay)? Actors need publicists. Production companies need all sorts of employees–accounting, back-end administration, assistants, etc. What about working for a drama school in some capacity? Just because acting didn’t work out for you, it doesn’t mean there’s no role for you in the industry. If you want that, that is.
Schooling will be your key. May also want to consider a trade or a mature apprenteship.
Learn SQL, Postgres and MySQL are free and easily downloadable. Get some dummy data and follow some free tutorial. Then if you got that far, learn T-SQL (Microsoft) or PL-SQL (Oracle) and start applying to every job that asks for data skills and repeat. If you can make subqueries complex joins clustered index’s and stored procedures at will you will in a couple years of hopping easily be able to get in the 6 figures. Easily. This is not a saturated field, and is only getting more important. All the data in the world is stored in databases, and some flavor of SQL, or a derivative. And it’s easy to read and understand not scary. You’re just creating reading updating and deleting fields on a very gigantic spreadsheet.
