Same, I do have a degree but it’s in marketing and I haven’t really done much with it. I’m doing maintenance now at luxury apartments, I kind of enjoy it, learning a lot how I can take care of my own home in the future. You could make close to 100k in a few years time but it kind of caps around there. I might try to make a switch to my company’s marketing team if possible, they like to hire from within.
Leasing professionals are also another option, our manager at my building makes almost 200k doing that, she started as a leasing professional. Another option I might entertain. But I’m just doing maintenance for now while I figure out which direction I want to go
The Navy & Air Force take people up to 41, assuming you don’t have a problematic medical history.
If so, it’s a viable option because you’d be able to develop some new skills, finish your degree for free (plus other benefits), and have your basic expenses covered while you ride out this shitty economy for the next 4 years.
go back to school. no other option.
Why not go to school do a course in something you do with tech. You will turn 40 regardless and the question will be are you graduate or not lol so don’t bother thinking of how old you’ll be.
Yes the job market is absolute dog shxt! However once it gets better will you be prepared?! (Experience + qualification). GO FOR IT
Any commission based retail jobs can be lucrative. Sales Professionals in luxury retail, car sales, etc make over 6 figures a year.
Also think about trade schools. Definitely plumbers, electricians, etc make six figures.
