StartupTips #Validation #PainPoints #MVP #Entrepreneurship
Hey fellow entrepreneurs! ๐ Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve identified a potential pain point that you believe is worth solving, but you’re unsure how to verify it without diving straight into building an MVP? ๐ค Let’s brainstorm some strategies together!
Here are some effective methods to validate pain points without investing in a full-blown MVP:
- Conduct customer interviews: Reach out to your target audience to gather feedback and insights on their pain points.
- Create a prototype: Develop a simple, low-cost prototype to test the viability of your solution.
- Utilize online tools: Platforms like UserTesting and SurveyMonkey can help you gather valuable data from potential users.
If surveys and landing pages are suggested, here’s how you can implement them effectively:
- Craft targeted surveys: Ask specific questions related to the pain points you’ve identified.
- Optimize landing pages: Use A/B testing to determine which messaging resonates best with your audience.
Do you have any insights or experiences to share on validating pain points without an MVP? Let’s help each other out and build successful startups together! ๐ช #Collaboration #KnowledgeSharing #StartupJourney
Just make it
If you truly believe that it’s solving problem, just make it in 1-2 months, smth basic
or your ideas are hard to make?
From my little experience -> Surveys is to get:
1. Motivation
2. New direction in the problem (which u may not know)
3. Get know what you already know about your problem
From my researches stories I’ve seen only one example:
Quote:
“Since the survey was answered by so few people, I couldnโt really take this data as an accurate representation of the market. Taking serious conclusions from the results wouldโve been a big mistake due to the low volume and because the demographics of the surveyees didnโt match the target USA demographics.
However, during conversations, I saw that some people really loved it, and that initial excitement and validation from strangers fueled me to continue pursuing the idea.
Something that I realized a lot later was that
๐ก survey data will never be an accurate approximation of peopleโs response compared to them really using your product.”
and from my experience:
I started to do survey to get more What people need in the problem, like features y etc.
It’s to structure chaos into product
It was amazing, it motivated me to build y etc
so like 100+ people answered survey and now I can send them a link to a product -> potential customers
But I already knew the market where to find them (PCF not PMF)
Customer conversations. Find people that are experiencing the pain points and willing to pay for a solution. If the pain point is real enough that they’re willing to prepay you to build a solution, that’s the best validation you can get.
Make sure you’re learning all you can in these conversations. Don’t just tell them what you’re building and ask if they like it. You’ll get false positive feedback.
Read or listen to the book ‘The Mom Test’ which is all about this process.
Wow, this is a great question. Yes, yes, yes. You are awesome for asking! Your question needs to be pinned to the top of every startup forum from here to forever.
Yes, go check with some buyers and some users, they might not be the same. See if they will buy. Donโt just ask, see if they will sign a letter of intent. A loi causes them to actually think about this.
Good luck!
You could always fake that you have the product and get peopleโs reactions. That might piss some people off but there are ways to do it.
You could make a landing page that spells out the problem and solution and ask people to sign up to stay informed.
You can call people who you think are having the problem. Verify said problem. Then pitch your solution and a price point and gauge their reaction.
Slide deck w/ mockups. 1:1 conversations with your potential customers. If they react positively, ask them to sign an LOI/Letter of Intent.
Customer interviews! And donโt tell them the solution either, just get them to explain their problem, in detail.
1. Renders and mockups.
2. “Prelaunch” landing page with sales offer.
3. How much $ do you spend per email collected? Over $3 = invalidated.
