#ConstructionJob #SelfHarmScars #HRNightmare #OnboardingProcess
Can you believe this madness? 🤯 Imagine landing a construction job offer, passing all the necessary tests, only to have it halted because of old self-harm scars. 🤦♂️ Here’s a breakdown of the ordeal I’ve been facing:
– Drug test ✅
– Physical ✅
– Scars noted on form 😳
– Approvals from doctors impossible to secure 😫
– Spending $$$ and time on useless appointments 🏥
– Form rejected due to missing stamp 😠
– All for 21 dollars an hour? 💸
Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation? Any advice on how to navigate through this bureaucratic nightmare?
Possible Solutions:
– Consider seeking assistance from a mental health professional who can provide a clear assessment of your ability to work.
– Request HR to provide specific guidelines on what needs to be included in the doctor’s sign-off.
– Reach out to legal aid or advocacy organizations for support in advocating for your rights as a job applicant.
Let’s band together and share our experiences and insights to help each other out! 💪 #SupportInConstruction #NavigatingHRChallenges
Stamp with the correct format? To the best of my knowledge, doctors don’t have formatted stamps. Did they want it notarized or something?
Sounds more like an excuse to not on oard you.
May come under promissory estoppel, maybe speak to an employment lawyer, see if you have a case.
Are you in the US? This sounds like illegal disability discrimination (mental health, mental health history, etc. Idk, I’m no expert, but you might want to talk to a lawyer).
