Hey there! It sounds like you’re really struggling with some heavy stuff right now, and I’m so sorry to hear that. It’s tough when you feel like your job is pointless and you’re drowning in meaningless busy work. I’m glad to hear that your suicidal thoughts go away on the weekend – it shows that there is some relief to be found.
Here are a few possible solutions that might help you navigate through this tough time:
– Take a mental health day or sick day from work to give yourself a break
– Consider talking to a therapist or counselor about how you’re feeling
– Explore new job opportunities that align more with your passions and values
– Practice self-care activities like meditation, exercise, or spending time with loved ones
– Remind yourself that your mental health is a top priority and seek support when needed
Remember, you are not alone in this. There are people who care about you and want to see you thrive. Hang in there, and please reach out for help if you need it.💚
Hate to be this guy.. but be happy you have a job and money coming in. I have been without a job for 11 months, have applied to over 70 jobs, got a huge opportunity, just to be told last minute no since my college transcripts showed i was a mere 6 credits off my associates. Be thankful u have a job, its been a nightmare rutt for me to be stuck in.
Take a few hours on the weekend, update your resume and search for a new job. Do this until you have a new job.
The amount of pro-work shit by workerists here lately is just insane.
OP is just being HUMAN, for fuck’s sake. Humans suffer when they do meaningless shit.
Unfortunately i don’t have any advice, i am personally just waiting for the whole system to blow up.
Change jobs to working at a school as an aide for disabled youth. It usually pays well and is very rewarding, if not humbling. It is a high demand job. We cannot fill them fast enough.
you’ve burnt out. prioritize wellness. if you are able, take some time off to clear your head.
get high
I’m so sorry it feels like this right now. It isn’t right that the work is like this. Are there things that you get joy from that you can sprinkle through the week? I don’t have much time during the day for creativity but I’ve been trying to paint more in the evenings while I’m watching a show. We are not our jobs (even though our society tells us that we are) and trying to focus on the other parts of yourself and “feed” those other parts can help, whether it’s therapy, connecting with friends/family/coworkers, doing things that you enjoy like playing games, reading, being outside. I’m sending you good energy!
