Welcome to how the business world… and recruiting… works. And people say our fees are too high. Half the time it’s because goes unseen all the free work we did for someone to reap the rewards of someone else’s stupidity.
Thank you for posting this! Recruiters take the heat (and make no mistake, there are bad and incompetent recruiters out there) but largely it’s masking the fact that businesses are fickle and capricious. They don’t put good requirements together, they don’t judge candidates on their merits, they don’t keep to their hiring plans or timelines, etc. recruiter are just the paint on the problem. The lack of accountability for hiring process is the real culprit.
I’m gonna think of this every time someone insists that private corporations function more efficiently than the government.
