#Atlanta #LaidOff #ReInterview #Severance
Hey everyone! 👋 Have you ever been in a situation where you were laid off but then given the chance to re-interview for your position? 🤔 That’s what happened to me and a few others in my team recently in Atlanta.
Here’s the deal:
– My team of 15 got the axe in March 2023 with severance packages.
– 4 positions similar to what I had been doing were kept, and we were all invited to re-apply.
– I was lucky enough to be one of the 5 chosen to stay, but I heard a rumor that someone who didn’t get selected lost their severance because they re-applied. 😳
Doesn’t that sound a bit off to you? 🤨 I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic. And if you have any advice on how to handle situations like these, please share! Let’s discuss and help each other navigate these tricky waters together. 💬💡
Looking forward to hearing from you all! Thanks in advance! 🙏
If you get offered a job and decline it, this can happen sometimes. It’s likely they’re not telling the whole story.
But listening and putting faith in the rumor mill is silly.
We’re getting like a 4th hand account of what actually happened. A lot of detail is probably being left out in the game of telephone.
The laws in Ontario would require you to be offered the roles without interviewing again. That’s absurd.
