What state are you in, how many employees did your company have? The answers to these questions will help more knowledgeable members figure out to respond to you.
Unless I am mistaken, it is illegal federally and state to fire an employee over a medical issue.
I come from at “at-will” state myself. You have provided medical documentation stating the issues, and these were approved leaves from a hire up.
Furthermore, you made multiple attempts to stay and “work through the issues” but were denied being let into the building, and yet the owner was telling you to toughen up. If you can get her words in writing, I have a feeling you would most definitely have a case.
I would talk this over and consult with an attorney to see what they say.
