F1 is an amazing sport. It’s fast paced and relies on both strategy and skill. I started watching it when my dad got hooked onto it. Max is my favorite driver, such a chill guy.
It’s like most motor sports. A thing. Sometimes interesting. Mostly kinda boring. But don’t take my opinion too much.
Yes, I’ve been watching it for a long time, since I was a teenager and really enjoy it.
I’ve been watching since I could toddle into the living room and sit with my dad. I fell off it for a while because I really don’t like Hamilton but I’ve been getting back into it recently. Although I no longer get up in the middle of the night for every session!
It’s big in my whole family. We even have a fantasy league.
That being said, me watching it on a sunday afternoon often turns into me taking a nap while the race is on.
You can just say “women who like F1”.
Love the sport. Watched it with my father growing up. Hamilton is mt favorite driver but of the current lineup I particularly enjoy watching Ferrari fuck up their driver’s chances at every possible moment (hope to see that change with the new TP) and love Lando and Oscar. Hope to see more young drivers like Bearman get chances in the sport despite the love of old heads.
The whole Horner situation has made it abundantly clear how much sexism still exists in the sport because the main talking points were just that a woman being harassed sexually is a plot point to an internal power dispute. Yes, that is true – but everyone forgot that there were actual victims in that fiasco and that sexual abuse, harassment, and power abuses are more than plot points in their drama – they’re very real things that happen to women on the daily in male dominated spaces.
But the community discussion that evolved around the horner thing just shows how much work men still need to do when it comes to stories about abuses of power towards women.
And this is usually when some random dude will respond and try to argue this with “facts” of the allegations like that matters to the complete denial and immediate protection of horner upon first hearing it, the constant jokes of “horny christian”, the doxxing of supposed victim, or that the system has ever been just or fair to women in these positions.
People still talk fondly of missing the pit girls and the hyper sexualized opening credits of F1. It’s just so gross. The shit Susie just had to deal with by the mainstream F1 media and FiA.
I’m just beginning to learn about all the different rules and races. I’ve always been into it but never had support or anyone to talk about my interest with. Well I guess until now.
Yeah i used to watch it with my dad since i can remember. After moving out i kind of stopped watchin but is till follow the news and happenings around it
I can’t say I’m a fan but I do follow the sport. It’s really exciting to watch the action.
I started watching last year because my boyfriend is a fan, I enjoy it.
Meeee! I love everything about it and want to do a model promotion for them one day
I honestly think women that like F1 aren’t that rare (I’m in Europe, if that changes anything), lots of my friends follow it, but some aren’t very vocal about it and I only found out we were all fans after years of friendship!
The thing that annoys us (my friends and I) is when people believe we don’t like or understand the racing, and that we just watch it because the pilots are rich and hot. Some fan spaces can be a bit toxic, but in general it’s been an awesome experience
A lot of the fans into certain drivers are extremely annoying so I try not to interact with them much to be perfectly honest. It’s fine, has it’s good moments but still suffers from being kind of a procession a lot of times.
I looovvvee F1, personally I just grew up in a Big F1 family, but I like most that its basically always happening. I also like that teams are brands and companies rather than countries, so eveyrone from everywhere can be on a team, and even switch teams if their current one doesnt work for them (im looking at hamilton rn)
