#CareerAdvice #Immigration #DiversityVisa #JobOpportunities #Oregon
Hey everyone! 👋 I need some advice from all of you experienced individuals out there. I’m a 26-year-old from Europe who will be immigrating to the US soon with a diversity visa. The thing is, I only have experience working as a security guard and an associate degree from my country. My English is average, but I’m working on improving it.
Here’s where I need your help – what do you think I should do for a career in the US that would allow me to earn a good salary? I will be moving to Oregon, so any suggestions specific to that area would be much appreciated! 🌲
Some options I’m considering:
– Consider going back to school to further your education and qualifications
– Look into industries like hospitality or construction that may value your security experience
– Explore opportunities in the tech industry even with limited English, as some roles may not require extensive communication skills
What do you all think? I’m open to any advice and suggestions you have. Looking forward to hearing your insights! 💡
Moving from where, and why?
Start with what you already know…apply for security guard jobs. That gives you a steady income with tasks that you already know. Then start thinking about what might be more interesting to you.
