🚀 Just launched my most challenging business 🚀
Hey there fellow entrepreneurs! 👋 I wanted to share some exciting news with this amazing group. After years of hard work and dedication, I have officially launched my latest business venture in the food & beverage industry. It has been a challenging and rewarding journey so far, and I wanted to give you all a glimpse into the process and what lies ahead.
Here is a breakdown of my experience and what I have learned along the way:
## The Inspiration Behind Allu Company
A couple of years ago, I was facing health issues related to diabetes and was on the search for a natural sugar alternative that also tasted great. That’s when I discovered allulose – a fantastic sugar substitute with zero grams of sugar and an amazing taste. This discovery inspired me to venture into the world of CPG and start my own company dedicated to creating food and beverages using allulose.
## The Challenges of Beverage Development
The journey from the initial idea to production has been filled with unexpected challenges and valuable learning experiences. Developing a new beverage brand has proven to be more complex than I had anticipated, but the end result has been incredibly rewarding.
## Launching AlluSoda
After months of hard work and dedication, we officially went into production in the last week of December. Our initial focus was on direct-to-consumer sales through Amazon and our website. In just the first week, we have achieved a significant milestone with $2000 in revenue. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Allu Company.
## Moving into Retail Distribution
Our next goal is to expand into retail distribution and secure partnerships with distributors and retailers. We have already begun the process by reaching out to potential accounts, preparing sample kits, developing a brand book, and creating a sales sheet. Some independent grocers have already expressed interest, and we are determined to grow our presence in the retail market.
## The Future of Allu Company
Allulose is a rapidly growing sugar substitute that has the potential to revolutionize the food and beverage industry. Our vision is to establish Allu Company as the leading authority on allulose-based products. Our initial product, AlluSoda, is just the beginning. We have plans to expand into other beverages such as AlluTea, AlluEnergy, AlluSpirits, and beyond into a range of food products.
To learn more about Allu Company and our products, be sure to check out our website at AlluSoda.com.
I am happy to share any learnings or experiences I have gained from this journey so far, and I will definitely keep you all updated on our progress. Here’s to the next chapter and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead! 🥂
Cool product and congrats on your launch.
Why did you decide to launch with 3 skus? Some brands starts with one sku and some starts from multiple skus. I’m curious to know your strategy behind launching three.
That’s amazing! Congrats! Such a great accomplishment. Your story sounds a lot like mine. I began my CPG venture a couple of years ago at 46 and had big dreams of branching out into different products. Did 2 years of learning everything I could from product development, food safety, branding etc. I started working with a long time friend who then said it was way too difficult to accomplish and backed out. I then continued on my own only to get overwhelmed and give up. Deep down I truly feel that my product is one that is at the start of an emerging demand. However, I don’t feel confident enough to do it alone. I still feel passionate about it however, I’m not sure it’s worth the struggle. Did you have support? Family or partners?
First, congratulations! This is exciting.
What makes allulose superior to stevia and monk fruit? Does it leave an aftertaste like stevia?
Congratulations on your launch! Such an incredible achievement. Cheers to 2024
I just googled allulose and first thing I found was an article of 2022 with regard to an EU submission for approval for usage in novelty foods. Sounds like you’ve got yourself a golden nugget, I hope you can get your market share from PepsiCo and CCC.
I noticed that you’re using the “zero sugar” slogan on your cans, for me a no buy reaction came to mind, as zero sugar is the same as a stevia based product over here.
I’m excited to try this soda, I also dislike the Stevia flavour, so I’m stuck with regular sugar (which I try to avoid) or plain water…
But it seems that I’ll have to wait for that EU approval…
Good luck and have fun!
Look out for competition from products using “sweet proteins”…coming up fast, great taste/texture.
Wow congrats! I’ll have to give the soda a try- I’ve been in the process of losing weight and have been looking for some healthier beverage alternatives 🙂
How did you get your initial sales? Was it primarily a big digital marketing push pre launch or did you try to curate an audience organically over a longer period of time before launching?
Im currently building a DTC jewelry brand for a relatives wholesale business, would love to learn more on how you got your first thousand!
Respect and very motivating. The hard work is evident with where you are today and seeing it for sale online at Amazon. I attempted a fruit water endeavor a couple of times, its own challenges compared to soda, and you have gone full steam in a few years. Curious, will you be using IG for paid promotions to drive online sales or solely focus on Amazon? What was the process for shelf life testing? Kudos!
I’m also a type 2 diabetes patient. I’m in China, and I did some searching, it seems that there are very few products with acarbose in China. Hmm…
Congrats on your launch !
Congrats on your success. It seems you have the right ingredients for making this a success 😉.
I am more into Tech Startups but CPG interests me as they are B2C mostly or at least have a large appeal to.
From what I know, distribution is a costly affair. You must know them well and have solid agreements in place and then there is economies of scale. I rather go small in local stores or farmers market and test interest/appetite for flavors and gather feedback. Direct selling on website is a great option too.
How about reaching out to places that treat or serve diabetic people or even support groups. Also, is there a research component there? Leverage those if you can because then you have can have some IP, which will boost credibility. Only saying because you talk about Allulose on your website and use Research says.
Lastly, think about positioning yourself as a thought leader in this space. Blogs, articles, data points and general awareness can boost image and brand.
Your website looks great BTW. I would just not make it look like a coke or Pepsi. Just be your own.
Congrats on the launch. Not many people have the discipline to do that.
Congrats!!
