The better question is what didnāt I learn?
That it is not easy.
That people who work for you are valuable. Treat them with respect and you will receive a massive payback.
The biggest shock and somewhat cynical take away for me was – all that matters is sales and marketing from a growth perspective. I work really hard to provide quality service to my clients, but if I focused more on signing new clients and less on quality Iād be signing up more clients than Iād lose and be making much more money. I figured if I got a rep for quality clients would come. Weāll see how much that rings true.
That Iām better at running a business, than starting one.
The number of tax loopholes expands with the size of the business.
Once you reach a certain scale, tax is essentially optional.
