People
Terrible hiring managers who have egos
I’m going to answer this as the way the question was framed. The number one challenge to the business., not to me personally
The actual recruitment portion…not the finding people (There’s so much ….too much…technology out there, so this is the easy part) but getting qualified people to switch jobs is the hard part. People are very worried about switching jobs right now.
So… I guess what I would say the number one challenge is right now is the overreliance on technology and the lack of true recruiting skills that most recruiters SHOULD have but do not.
To put it in a different perspective, think of it as recruiters are “builders”. For the last decade they’ve been trained to use tools in order source materials (Find the best Lumber , siding, shingles, etc.) but very few have been taught how to build a house. So They know where all the good materials are, but they can’t do anything with it.
