### Looking for that nostalgic feeling?
Are you a fan of the classic Oregon Trail? Here are some modern games that might give you a similar vibe:
1. **The Organ Trail**: A zombie apocalypse parody of the original Oregon Trail game.
2. **The Banner Saga**: A narrative-driven game with similar resource management and decision-making elements.
3. **Don’t Starve**: Survive in a world full of dangers while managing resources and exploring.
4. **Death Road to Canada**: A quirky game where you make choices that affect your journey to Canada.
5. **Faster Than Light (FTL)**: Manage a spaceship and crew while navigating through tough decisions and random events.

You ever play Amazon Trail?
Hear me out, as far as a “choices matter” game there are a lot of deckbuilder roguelikes that follow the same overall feel. I know it feels weird to say that off the cuff but when every decision you make has a long term consequence, I feel like it fits.
As far as more of a narrative overall, I recently just dumped about 35 hours into Roadwarden. A LOT more reading than Oregon trail, but there’s quite a few mysteries to solve, both logic related and story wise.Â
I’d say FTL. You’re trying to go from one side of the map to the other, while you accumulate supplies and improve your ship.
Another one that comes to mind is the Flame and the Flood. It’s a survival game with hunger and such, but you are on a raft passing various islands by.
Darkest dungeon?
Organ Trail
Real Answer, Darkest Dungeon.
Troll answer that’s also sort of real, Dark Souls.
The Thule trail.
A promotional game for Thule that’s just like the OT. But ur driving cross country to go to a music show, and need snacks and stuff for the journey
Back in 7th and 8th grade, we had this game in our school computers. My friend Tim and I decided to name our people with inappropriate names. Pussy, dick, and so on. Ahhh good times.
Darkest dungeon, FTL, Battle brothers
The Long Dark.
No other game comes close for me.
Dark souls cuz I always die.
State of decay. I like some of the managing of a community.Â
Death Road to Canada
Super Amazing Wagon Adventure
Both of these are tongue-in-cheek and more arcade-y versions of Oregon Trail.
Fear and hunger.
Death Road to Canada! Best spin on that formula if you’re looking for LITERAL adjacent style gameplay with more arcade feel.
Same VIBES though, hmmm… probably like FTL or maybe Darkest Dungeon 2
Tough for the vibes though cause I don’t really think there are lot of American Pioneer type games in general.
Pacific Drive!!Â
It can be a little intimidating at first, once you get the hang of it, it’s a modern day (all be it paranormal) Oregon trail, plus the stranger things vibe and the sound track is top tier.
Death road to canada
Death road to canada
I’d like to see Oregon trail remade in the style of rdr2. 3d with actual hunting.
Organ trail, check it out
Rimworld if you travel the world
In Red Dead 1 or 2. Just go to any forest area and it feels like upgraded 3D version of Oregan Trail. There’s animals everywhere that you can shoot with your gun or rifle. The forest area is alive with wildlife. I don’t feel bad about shooting everything in sight because I tell myself it’s just a game and they respawn back. (Except for the Bison in RDR1)
The Banner Saga, to some extent. While there’s a lot of turn-based combat, huge chunks of the game are traversing the map on foot, rationing supplies, and making choices during random encounters.
This is random but I just realized Oregon trail is a rogue like lol
Rimworld
The Long Dark
