#KeepitReal #ThereIsNoCoolInFakingIt
You know what’s really stupid? When people pretend to know all about a topic they know nothing about just to try and look cool. 🙄 It’s like they think it’s impressive to act like they’re experts on something when in reality they have no clue.
One prime example of this is when someone pretends to be a connoisseur of fine wine 🍷, spouting off about different vintages and regions when they couldn’t tell a Merlot from a Malbec if their life depended on it. Or how about those folks who love to pretend they’re well-versed in international politics 🌍, only to reveal their ignorance with a misguided comment about a current event.
Let’s be real, genuine knowledge and passion for a subject is way more impressive than fake expertise. So next time you’re tempted to play it cool by faking it, just remember that there’s nothing impressive about being a poser. #StayTrue #AuthenticityMatters
Trauma
wealth
Mental illness.
The epidemic of socially transmitted mental illness is absolutely terrifying to me. Kids and adults are so lonely and devoid of purpose that they can only find affirmation and a sense of belonging by mimicking serious mental health issues to share on social media.
Mental illness
Pretend to be a victim in all cases. Even if you are the one who victimized others. It’s dumb.
A truck with male genatalia hanging off the trailer hitch?
An over exaggerated sex life
Big libido
many partners. it’s not cool, you’re just a weirdo
“Followers”
Big ass pickup trucks in the suburbs
Designer brand anything
Alcohol tolerance. Good luck to your liver brother.
A girlfriend 3 towns away
ADHD
An SRT Hellcat Redeye when you know all you got is that sad little V6. You’re not foolin’ anyone bro
OCD
Depression
Around here, guns. I have a handful and grew up shooting. It’s not that big of a deal. I have meet so many people that have an arsenal and maybe shoot once a month if that.
That and pavement princesses. Dudes with lifted trucks with knobby tires that never take them off road or even down a dirt or gravel road. These trucks are always spotless. My Mazda car has been further into the woods than these trucks.
Vaping. Especially if you don’t have a pre-existing nicotine addiction. I’ve seen kids from my city as young as 14 develop a nicotine addiction from disposable vapes.
Autism/ADHD – you don’t get to diagnose yourself with an online quiz and then start posting “things that just make sense when you’re neurodivergent” with pictures of things that just make sense because you’re a human.
Supernatural inhuman powers like in Roblox RP’ers, they fake depression, having superpowers like laser eyes, you get me?
Autism. But, you know, only the ~*quirky* kind.
As an actual autistic person tiktok can fuck right off for that.
Alcoholism
Internet followers.
I mean, it’s not pretending if you count all the bots I guess.
A degree from Bovine University.
Mental illnesses. It’s fucking sad to see people fake having serious mental issues.
Dancing on TikTok to make some stupid statement about themselves
Money
Money. Theres way too many people on social media flexing stuff they cant afford.
“The truth”.
At least in America, we have a TON of uninformed people that claim they have all of the answers. “The earth is flat! NASA doesn’t want you to know!” or “Donald Trump is still the commander in chief! Biden is actually an actor!”
They want to feel important. So they decide to live in a fantasy world where THEY know the truth. THEY are “awake”. Everyone else is living in the dark.
Suicide/Self-harm
Pretending to understand OPs question when clearly the did not understand it.
Mental illness. Terms like OCD, trauma, panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, and narcissism, have been watered down so much over the years that people who actually suffer with these things can’t get the right help and accommodations because they are no longer taken seriously.
Depression.
Smoking.
Any idea what the fuck they’re doing.
I don’t know which is more worrying. The rampant suspicion that so many people are faking, or the inability of so many people to understand OP’s question.
Mental illness.
Sick of TikTards faking having depression and anxiety.
Using it to make themselves seem cool and quirky when it is actually crippling and hard to live with.
Exclusivity to knowledge or resources. Anyone I know that legitimately has valuable resources or knowledge does what ever they can to share it.
The ability to fight. People swear they’re out here whoppin ass but soft and a Persian rug. Smh 🤨
Money. Like people getting big debts just to pretend they have more than money they actualy have
IPA’s. Actually had an insecure boss question my manliness because I ordered a blueberry beer while he ordered an IPA. I can’t imagine giving a shit what other people like to drink
“I’m autistic”
No you’re not…. You’re just a slob who needs to shower more. <trading card store incident>
Half the guys in my grade act like they’re raised in the hood when the city I live in is pretty nice
The belief that being mean and looking down on others is cool
The ability to fight. You see a lot of videos of people starting fights who’s fighting technique can be described as ‘stand flat footed and limply flail your metacarpals at your opponent’. I guess in their peanut brains they think they can punch like Francis Ngannou or something.
Vapes. I don’t see the whole point of vaping while you’re in HIGH SCHOOL. If it’s to beat your addiction, that’s a line most would actually say in order to beat it but why waste 16 dollars on a shitty usb stick that puffs out cheaply made chemicals that aren’t even known on the periodic table being genetically engineered in a sweat shop of some sort.
