It wasn’t completed, so yeah, it will be. That plea deal will be out the window too. He’s going to jail for a long ass time.
More charges, more time in lockup. Plus whatever immediate jailing they want to dish out for contempt of court.
He’d already pled guilty and was being sentenced when he decided to attack her, so there won’t be a mistrial. He’s scheduled to appear on Monday before the same judge for sentencing, and he also has thirteen new charges that he’ll have a new trial for, presumably before a new judge.
She can finish the sentencing if she wants.
He will be charged with more crimes, another judge will have to run that case.
Hes going to prison, for a long time.
They will watch him like a hawk and if he tries to attack the judge or another he won’t get very far.
I thought it was a parole hearing. Guess I was wrong.
Hopefully he gets a bunch of additional charges and spends a lot more time in prison than he was originally. I highly doubt they allow her to preside over the new trial for whatever cases he caught the other day but I don’t think it will matter. I Can’t see any judge, the one he attacked or one of her colleagues, being too lenient on him after that ridiculous display. The dude needs to be separated from society.
WTF would it be a mistrial? Even Alina Habba could work out this it’s a separate new offense.
Honestly I’m surprised they didn’t kill him right then and there.
The guy’s a douche to be sure, but you gotta give him props for FLYING over both a desk and the bench. 😂
She will hopefully sentence him in the same courtroom again with him tied to a chair.
Nevada State Penitently.
Drawn & quartered
I believe he was already getting a life sentence.
So a bit longer.
He innocent!!!! Free my boy Debra!!!
The Raiders will sign him
Probably a new trial for assault charges.
They probably will handcuff his hands to his ankles
He be crying like a little bitch he is
Just for clarification in case you didn’t know this but a mistrial does not automatically mean the state can’t try them again. That can be the case sometimes but even if he hadn’t already pleaded guilty and was just being sentenced a mistrial would just mean they start over with a new judge.
Whatever else happens, I imagine some of his fellow inmates will treat him like a hero.
Let me guess…..
Prolly jail
Probably 5 more years added onto what he already has.
what would be the actual charges?
“to shreds, you say?”
A defendant can not be granted a mistrial for their own bad behavior. There is no reason for her to recuse herself on this case. She is going to sentence him next week.
He has also been charged with additional battery charges. The judge will not be allowed to hear this new case because she is the victim. The new case will go in front of another judge. He will go to prison for a long time.
I was told a story by a lawyer friend about a guy who broke into a judges house, he didn’t know the judge lived there and he broke into about 6 different houses in the same area. When he was caught the judge couldn’t deal with the case and another judge dealt with it. The guy ended up with a plea deal where he got off with that charge as he hadn’t stolen anything from that house but had from the others so he had to plead to them and he ended up getting jailed.
Because of that and as the guy was a “regular” the judge was able to deal with the guy in the future for new cases without having to recuse themselves. I have always wondered if the judges had a quiet word so that the plea deal was arranged to enable that to happen.
