I rearranged the cheese in the cheese draw to hide the last of the Somerset brie so it doesn’t get snaffled before lunchtime.
There’s a massive amount of plastic waste swirling in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, larger than the state of Texas? It’s called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and most people don’t even realize it exists.
That most people don’t know about? Anything in any our local lives.
When we fall in love, when we break up, when we have kids, they graduate school, they have kids, when we celebrate anniversaries. When we get promotion or raises, when we feel happy, or when we hate ourself. The despair of the critical voice in our heads telling us we aren’t good enough and the naivity to assume we are the only one facing such. Our friends and their lives.
Be there for one another. We have been split apart and community has been weakened, this encourages feeling alone/sadness.
Genocide in Congo. I tear up whenever I read about it

There’s a solar storm hitting the atmosphere right now that makes the northern lights visible much farther south than usual. You could see it as far south as the Carolinas last night.
As a side-effect of russia blackmailing some european countries by withholding gas deliveries, they successfully made electrical energy explode in cost 2 years ago. While short-lived like any energy crisis, this changed the calculation of privately-owned solar panels, and people have started building mini power plants in staggering numbers. The grid is unable to cope with this load and some of it is going to waste, but renewable energy production has started to become a grassroots movement in several european countries, causing multiple days this year already where electrical energy was at negative price for a few hours. This has roughly TRIPLED the speed of renewable energy expansion in comparison to expectations. It is highly likely that this russian play has permanently changed the trajectory of europe towards much faster adoption of green energy.
i am trying my best
In northern San Diego county, near lake Hodges, 30 million Argentine ants die every year on the front lines of the border between two different supercolonies.
There are genocides of minority peoples in a bunch of countries all over the world, but only organized protests that make the news, about one. One barely hears about Somalia in the United States.
The bee brick I installed today in a wall in my garden has already been found and at least one bee has made it its home so far.
In an unexpected twist of events, backyard gardeners have unintentionally started what’s being called the ‘Great Pollinator Revival’. With the decline of bee populations worldwide, small-scale, urban gardening efforts are providing critical habitats and food sources for bees and other pollinators. Reports indicate that cities with higher concentrations of such gardens are seeing measurable upticks in local bee populations. It’s a case of accidental environmentalism, but the implications for food sustainability and urban ecosystems could be profound. This grassroots green wave might just tip the scales for beleaguered pollinators in ways large-scale conservation efforts have been struggling to achieve.
I’m dropping a duker in the ladie’s room because the men’s was out of order.
The quiet rebound of humpback whales in the oceans has been nothing short of miraculous. After being hunted to the brink of extinction, a concerted global effort in marine conservation over the years is now seeing these magnificent creatures making a strong comeback. Their increasing numbers are not just a win for biodiversity but point to the resilience of nature when given a chance to recover. It’s a testament to the power of international cooperation for environmental causes, and a sobering reminder of our responsibility to protect the Earth’s delicate ecosystems for future generations.
Apparently northern lights in the sky that i totally missed :,(

Basically, to save money pig farmers feed them trash, like leftover unsold raw meat from the grocery store. Unfortunately, they don’t remove the packaging so the pigs end up eating plastic which they digest and integrate into their piggy meats, for you to consume as microplastics.
The practice is common and widespread and totally legal.
There’s a vested interest in keeping American citizens politically divided and distracted so that they don’t unite and rise against the *real* powers that are making the average person’s life harder and more miserable.
H5N1, previously known as avian bird flu, is a pandemic right now. It’s previously known as bird flu because it’s since spread to cows, cats, seals, etc. 20% of US milk has traces of H5N1 in it. Human fatality rate is 50% and it causes major phycological changes. One infected cat just walked in circles until death. If it gets detected in pigs there’s a good chance it will hope to humans.
We already have a vaccine for it though.
I’ve known my neighbor for 12 years yet. She’s never call me or my wife by name. I know her and her husband. I’m known as ”Hey”. As in hey, did you get the mail today? Hey is your cable working? I am starting to suspect, she doesn’t know my name.
I’ve lost 70lbs since the end of November. It’s not that big of a deal compared to what’s going on in the world at large, but I’m happy
