Where can I find like-minded people interested in entrepreneurship and business? #entrepreneurship #business #networking
Hey everyone! I’ve been immersed in entrepreneurship and business for the past few years, but my friends don’t seem to share the same enthusiasm. Where did you meet people to discuss business topics with? I’m looking for someone to bounce ideas off and have stimulating conversations with, besides the reflection in my mirror.
How did you connect with friends who share an interest in the business space? #networking #startup #businesscommunity
By joining and participating in groups or communities of your area of interest.
I started a newsletter where I initially just added six friends to keep them updated about what I’m working on (I knew they were somewhat interested in the same topics as I am). Over time more people heard about it and signed up. I didn’t actively promote it and I think that ironically helped me because I don’t think that much about “growing an audience”. I just write about what I think is cool and interesting which is mostly software projects and tools I’m working on.
While it won’t lead to any merit in the short-term I think over the long-term the best thing you can do is to honestly talk about and share what you are doing and learning. People who are interested will automatically catch on and by sharing what you are doing and thinking about it’s easier for them to open conversations about common interests with you. Also, your friends are more in the know about what’s keeping you busy and might bring up a project of yours to others which allows them to reach out to you.
Finally, when you approach people it can also make you more interesting to them because you have a *demonstrated* interest in whatever your thing is and that may overlap with their interests. It’s so much stronger of a signal than just having “passionate about building products” in your LinkedIn bio. Everybody can do that.
It’s maybe not quite what you were looking for but it’s provided me with a lot of small coincidences thus far. In the end, it might as well be more important who knows you than who you know.
Rotary clubs are full of business owners. Local chamber of commerce is another networking locus. Communities for entrepreneurs are all over these days, you just gotta look.
Have you looked under the couch cushions ?
Been pretty isolated myself , people just don’t get things they’ve never experienced . There are some paid entrepreneurial groups out there that do meetings and locally depending on where you are there are some networking events . Where are you based?
Attend a secret gathering of sock enthusiasts. They’ll be discussing thread counts, unraveling mysteries of missing sock pairs, and debating the existential crisis of single socks.
Honestly, I would suggest networking with people within friend, or other groups your in, or even joining new groups.
Although, I haven’t launched a business yet, networking is extremely beneficial. Over time, not only will you get connected with more like minded people, but if you intend to start a business, or grow a business it will also help you generate customers.
I actually used this tactic in the past when working in finance, and it allowed me to a very successful operation.

Working at a bank has been a great resource for me… just talking to people.
Start local, do you have an entrepreneurial group that is hosting events nearby? I live in Bradenton, Fl and just discovered a tech entrepreneur group that started a few months ago. I attended an agent not knowing anyone, was extremely nervous, and met some amazing people! The risk was well worth the reward!
I’ve had luck chatting with local business owners. They’re usually happy that someone is interested in the business side.
Toastmaster groups also attract business owners and are great place to meet like-minded people.
You could even start a meetup on meetup.com. Usually works better in big cities.
Co-working spaces and nomad groups will also good places to hang out.
Basically, you have to get out there and meet awide range of people. I’ve even met people in very random places.
It can be tough finding folks who vibe with your entrepreneurial spirit. Personally, I’ve had luck connecting with like-minded people on LinkedIn. Also, I’ve found some great connections through friends and by joining groups related to my interests. It’s all about putting yourself out there and building those connections, bit by bit. Keep at it, and you’ll find your tribe!
Maybe most of people would have answered already, it’s just meeting more people’s and there are many ways to do so. Also do you think this would help for people who meet lot of other peoples [betterfriendai.com](http://betterfriendai.com)
