#JobSearch #SlowJobs #WorkLifeBalance
Hey fellow job seekers, do you ever feel like every single job posting out there is looking for someone who can handle a “fast paced environment”? 🏃♂️🏃♀️ I mean, where are all the slow jobs at?
It seems like every company wants employees who can handle chaos and craziness, but is that really sustainable for our mental health and well-being? 🤔
Here are a few possible solutions to finding those elusive slow-paced jobs:
– Look for companies that specifically mention a focus on work-life balance in their job postings
– Reach out to your network and ask for recommendations on companies that prioritize a slower pace
– Consider freelance or remote work opportunities that allow for more flexibility in your schedule
Let’s work together to find those hidden gems of slow-paced jobs out there. Who’s with me? 💼🌟
Pretty much.
Or, more precisely, the slower paced environments aren’t churning through employees, so they aren’t constantly on the hunt for new people.
Shits just a template now
Fast-paced

Fast paced environment is code for:
We need 10 people but finance will only allow us 6
Sounds like why I left retail. Expecting you to do the job of multiple people, and then… announcing they’re adding to your already crazy workload (while reducing people’s hours). Nope!
No, they just copy it over and over again. Each job is individual and pretty dependent on the specific company and how they do things. But HMs and HR people really like that verbiage for some fucking reason. I’ve been trying to remove it from our ads, they put it back. Even for custodial jobs. How fast paced and dynamic can cleaning toilets be? I think it’s an ego thing, they all want to pretend they’re changing the world, even if their business is folding cardboard.
Cuz most of the idiots running companies can’t plan more than 2 days in advance.
Time is money
they’re hiding in big corporations. but they don’t advertise as being slow. and, if the team has less work to do, then they’re less likely to be hiring in the first place. people hire more when they have more work than employees can handle, hence fast-paced
Every job is a fast paced environment because super lean hiring has been the norm for years now
No potheads!
Fast paced is code for understaffed
Makes them feel like big shots
It’s standard wording, but these days employers also ask for a lot from employees, expecting us to give 150%.
Government jobs
Results driven…blah..bleh…
okay so i’m a bank teller. our main branch is in a busy location while i work across the street at the stand alone drive thru… we are so slow that they’re basically paying me to read. we have our moments and certain times of the month are busier than others but that’s considered slow pace lol
“Fast paced” is just recruiterese for “get exploited”
“Wear many hats” is just recruiterese for “get exploited”
“Like a family” is just recruiterese for “get exploited”
Though I suppose a slow pace would be like working at the DMV or USPS or something
When everything is “fast paced”, nothing is fast paced… It’s just a regular job.

You want slow, go government.
where do you think all that productivity that the federal reserve is so happy about comes from? We’re all doing what used to be 5 different people’s jobs.
Another favorite… “hands on”
Productivity is a marker of profit. It’s a profit-based system. We’re not people to those in charge—only profit-generating drones. Our value is only an algorithm: how much profit we can make for them per hour while costing them as little as possible.
