Are you a passionate gamer who has ever played a game and thought to yourself: “Why wasn’t this included in the game at first?” If so, you are not alone. Many players have experienced the frustration of coming across exciting downloadable content (DLC) that they believe should have been part of the original game. In this article, we will explore this common problem faced by gamers and provide practical solutions to enhance your gaming experience.
## The Problem: Missing Out on Exciting Content
Have you ever played a game only to discover that there are additional levels, missions, or features available as DLC? It can be disheartening to realize that you are missing out on exciting content that could have made your gaming experience even more enjoyable. This feeling of disappointment is common among gamers who feel that developers are holding back content to make an extra profit through DLC.
### Example: Just Cause 3 DLC
For me, Just Cause 3 was a game that made me question why certain content wasn’t included in the base game. The DLCs added so much more depth, excitement, and variety to the game that it made me wonder why these features were not part of the original release. All the DLCs together make the game 300% more fun.
## Practical Solutions: Improving Your Gaming Experience
While the problem of missing out on exciting content in games may seem frustrating, there are practical solutions that can help improve your gaming experience. By taking a proactive approach and exploring your options, you can enhance your gameplay and make the most out of your favorite games.
### 1. Research DLC Before Purchasing
Before buying a game, take the time to research the available DLC. Look for reviews, player feedback, and content descriptions to determine if the DLC is worth investing in. By being informed about the additional content, you can make a more informed decision and avoid any surprises later on.
### 2. Wait for Game of the Year Editions
Many games release Game of the Year editions that include all DLC at a discounted price. Instead of buying the base game and individual DLC separately, consider waiting for these special editions to get the full experience at a better value. This way, you can enjoy all the content without feeling like you are missing out.
### 3. Support Developers Who Prioritize Player Experience
Show your support for developers who prioritize player experience and include substantial content in their base games. By voting with your wallet and choosing to support developers who value their players, you can encourage the industry to move away from exploitative DLC practices and focus on delivering quality gaming experiences.
## Conclusion: Enhancing Your Gaming Journey
As a dedicated gamer, it can be frustrating to come across DLC that makes you question why it wasn’t included in the game at first. However, by researching DLC, waiting for Game of the Year editions, and supporting player-focused developers, you can enhance your gaming journey and make the most out of your favorite games. Remember, your gaming experience is in your hands – choose wisely and enjoy every moment of your gaming adventure! 🎮✨
Any game with day 1 DLC.
If you develop the game further with additional content DLC, I might further buy and support the game.
But if you give me a full price game and day 1 DLC, that means you just cut some content to sell it separately.
Asura’s Wrath’s ending was a paid dlc. Soo… yeah…
The ME3 DLC that explains what the Reapers are.
Javic, ME3. He’s such an interesting component of the story and it just struck me as such a weird move to gate him as a Day 1 DLC.Â
Prince of Persia 2008
It’s literally the end of the story.
all total war with blood DLC
Civ V is about a quarter of the experience without GaK. The other expansions are good, but it was really GaK that took it from good to great for me.
Some of the features in the FFXV base game that weren’t there at launch.
Callisto protocol hardcore mode. Maximum Security is the easiest hardest difficulty. Maximum should have been what Hardcore is.
NG+ in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Trespasser DLC in DAI. The final fight is great end to the game, don’t get me wrong, but Trespasser fits more. The same with Legacy DLC in DA2.
XCOM Enemy Within.
I assume you mean a game besides The Sims
All the FF15 DLC felt that way.
Basically all the DLC for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, they’re mostly these small dungeons that don’t add any real value to the game, but cost $10 on their own (4 of them).
The whole first wave of DLC episodes for Final Fantasy XV.
You would just “lose” party members for a few days and then theyd just show back up without explaining a thing.
All of the sims 4 dlc. Like come on, the game feels so damn empty and boring
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s DLCs basically explain why this epic Ancient Greek game about a Mysthios is an Assassin’s Creed game after all.
I saw your question and instantly thought Bavarium jetpack then clicked on your post and saw JC3 was your pick 🤣
Fallout 3.
The DLC literally gave you the option to continue playing after the final mission, as free roam was locked off in vanilla. Not to mention it actually finished the story.
Should definitely have been part of the core game.
Forbidden West for me. The dlc in my opinion should’ve been the end to the base game and the final boss of the main game should’ve been the expansions villain
Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC. Basically you had to replay the last part of the story to actually understand what was going on. Also it gave you the antagonist as super bosses. It’s laughable since the KH 2.5 remaster had this already in it but no. SE had to be a bitch about it same as FFXV DLC politics, where they left out story parts in purpose to sell it to you separately.
Cod black ops 3 the giant zombies map it should have been base game.
Horse armor. Oblivion.Â
Isn’t the real ending to The Callisto Protocol a DLC? Not the first game to do this
Europa Universalis IV. The Art of War DLC
Base Goku and Base Vegeta as DLC fighters in Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Yes there are the Super Saiyan variants and the base forms play differently but there’s already 2 variants of both of them in the base game!

Why put the most iconic forms of both of them as DLC?
Personally I think the base forms (the DLC ones) should’ve swapped with the SSGSS forms (they were unlocked if you got a lot of currency, got an S rank in Arcade or earlier if you paid a small fee) so the original forms are already in the base game.
Lobby chat and unready status DLC in Payday 3 or Scoreboard DLC for Battlefield 2042.
Every DLC that has ever been made that came out within 3 months of the games release.
Every fighting game. You shouldn’t have to pay for characters in a fighting game that they were going to include anyways. Looking at you Capcom. Akuma being a DLC character you have to pay for. I miss characters being unlocked through gameplay.
Fallout 3. Must be showing my age here. But the game ends, you can’t play anymore unless you dig up an old save. The DLC lets you live and continue. Ffs
Practically every fucking DLC made nowadays…
All of FFXV.
Horse armor
I can’t imagine playing mgsv without ground zeroes
Shale, Dragon Age Origins. Should just have been in the full game. Such a great story and character.
All the $5 DLCs for Fallout 4. For what they added they should’ve been just free game updates or already in the game.
The Last of Us, Left Behind
Azura’s wrath DLCs
In the first Destiny game, the first dlc (I think vault of glass) was actually already in the game, they just didn’t load any enemies in it. I remember there was a controversy because some players found their way into it a little early. So Bungie basically sold us 90% of the game and then charged us another 20 for that last bit
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The whole season pass was a joke.
Marksmen dlc for arma 3. Why sell sniper rifles seperately from the base game
>For me, Just Cause 3. All the DLCs together make the game 300% more fun
Really? I honestly found the DLCs to be a detriment, not least because of how they impacted game performance on console. The second two were ok, but the combat wingsuit was too slow to manoeuvre. There again, I’d gotten too used to moving around at warp speed by always holding down ‘reel’ before I pressed grapple. You get some *insane* speed that way.
Dead Space 3, like come on. You took out the real end which looked good and which was a potential good advertising for a sequel. Smh
All of Final Fantasy XV DLC.
All of them like it used to be.
