Hey everyone! π So, I’ve been scratching my head over here as a hiring manager at a startup, and I keep coming across resumes with broken LinkedIn profile links. Like, they should work, but instead, I’m hitting a “404 – Profile Not Found” wall. π€
Here are my thoughts and questions:
– Is there a new trend where candidates delete their LinkedIn profiles and forget to update their resumes? π€·ββοΈ
– Am I missing something on the technical side that’s causing this issue? π€
– How important is a linked LinkedIn profile in the hiring process for you all?
My go-to move has been to toss these resumes in the “do not progress” pile because, hey, attention to detail is crucial for the role I’m hiring for. But if there’s a valid reason for these broken links, I’d love to know!
Possible solution: Why not nudge candidates during the application process to double-check and update their LinkedIn profile links? It could be a simple oversight on their end that’s causing this hiccup. π
What are your thoughts? Have you encountered this issue before, and how do you handle it? Let’s share some insights! π #Letstalk #RecruitmentWoes
I think it’s a thing to do with their security settings.
Don’t discount them due to a faulty link.
Look at their CV, see if the main skills exist, have a phone chat about the general idea of the job and then if happy invite to interview do a good one.
Try Google to search instead of LinkedIn. If you are seeing a rise in numbers, itβs likely not a one off in each case.
