Hey everyone, let’s dive into a tricky situation. 🤔 Have you ever been in a position where your boss seemed to ghost your recommended applicants and then hired someone connected to higher-ups? 🤯 Here’s a story that feels a bit off, but let’s try to approach it objectively.
So here’s the scenario:
– Two vacancies opened up due to a promotion
– Candidate applications were supported by the OP
– Boss seemed to ghost the applicants and filled the positions
– One hire turned out to be a high-ranking executive’s son
Now, the OP is left feeling suspicious and unsure about the whole situation. Should they voice their concerns or just keep quiet?
Possible solution:
– Document all communication with candidates
– Consider discussing with HR for guidance and clarity
– Continue to build relationships with candidates despite the setback
What do you think? Have you ever faced a similar situation at work? Let’s share our thoughts and advice! 💬 #CareerDilemma #ProfessionalAdvice
Yeah, no this is straight up nepo hire and hes lying to your face. Especially with the deleting of emails. That’s where you know it’s bullshit. Half the higher ups I’ve met, don’t even read, let alone delete emails, unless it’s urgent or business related from a vendor or customer service related VIP style. Everything else its why they have people report to them is what I’ve heard come out of their mouths, quite literally. Hell had one where you had to put the entire email in a subject line if you wanted his attention. Edit for spelling
>Am I right to feel suspect?
“Suspect”?! Not only is there a smoking gun – it’s in the hand of your boss as he stands over the still bleeding corpses.
Now you know who you work for. The only thing you could do is start/continue applying elsewhere.
Yeah he’s lying. If possible start looking for a new job. They may promote you when it’s time for nepobaby’s upward promotion, but they might also fire you; you know they’re unethical liars.
It boils down to either you have leverage and authority, or you don’t. It sounds like you don’t. Your options are to suck it up and deal or move on to a new role.
The best is yet to come: Guess who’s gonna have to clean up after the nepobaby shits the bed.
And now you also know why your backfill is two positions. One for the most likely useless failson to sit in, and the one that will end up doing all the actual work.
