#JobHunt #CareerStruggles #TherapistJobs
Hey everyone! I’m reaching out because I’m feeling really discouraged after going through a tough experience recently. I accepted a job offer as a behavioral therapist and was super excited about it. I completed all the necessary background checks, got my certifications, and actively participated in training. I even received notice that I’d been assigned my own client! 🎉 But just as I was about to start, I got an email saying that my offer had been rescinded. They said it was due to a change in their caseload and that they had to select candidates who best fit their current needs. 😔
Honestly, I’m exhausted. This whole process was supposed to be a step forward in my career, and now I feel like I’m back at square one. It’s frustrating to go through so much effort, only to have it taken away at the last moment. Here are some reasons why I think these pain points happen:
- Uncertainty in the Job Market: Many companies are facing shifting demands and may find themselves needing to reevaluate their hiring plans last minute.
- Lack of Communication: Sometimes, the changes in caseload or company needs aren’t clearly communicated until it’s too late.
- Emotional Investment: Having invested time and energy into the process makes it feel like a personal setback, which can really hurt.
As for a solution, I think employers could improve transparency throughout the recruitment process. Regular updates would help candidates feel more secure, even during fluctuations in hiring needs. Also, offering some form of support or advice for candidates who are impacted by rescinded offers would go a long way. 🛠️
So, I’m curious—has anyone else faced similar situations? How did you cope with the disappointment? Any tips on how to keep motivated during the job hunt would be greatly appreciated! Let’s share our experiences and support each other! 💪
Did you quit your previous job to take this one?
Am wondering if that is even legal. I’ve never heard of an offer being rescinded AFTER someone starts and gets training.
How could this happen… I mean, it’s so unfair
Not a lawyer, but I think you might have a case for unemployment. You were hired, you went through training, and if the statement you quoted was the actual quote (hopefully in an email) that sounds like being laid off or let go without cause due to an error on their part. Please try to talk with unemployment, at the very least. I hope you were at least paid for your time in training.
i had an offer rescinded last July after 6 days of working, their excuse was that my resume didn’t match the job description, the director was under a lot of scrutiny and they were on her a$$ so she decided that she would F some stuff up before she quit, she messed up the company’s budget, she saw me one day and secretly changed the job description to not match my resume, i had never seen this woman before the day i was let go, that’s why i’ll never go back into an office, people will secretly dislike you and you have no idea who they are and why they don’t like you, i hate office politics
