Stop obsessing over becoming wealthy. Focus on providing value and the money will come. 💰
Are you constantly striving for more money, thinking that wealth will bring you happiness and fulfillment? It’s time to shift your mindset and focus on providing value instead. Studies have shown that the key to happiness is not to directly seek happiness, but rather to engage in activities that are meaningful and valuable to others. Similarly, the path to financial success lies in creating value for others. Let’s delve into the importance of providing value and how it leads to financial success.
The Importance of Providing Value
When you focus on providing value, you are addressing the needs and desires of others. This can be in the form of solving their problems, offering a better experience, or delivering a superior product or service. By doing so, you are making a positive impact on people’s lives and fulfilling a genuine need within the market. This approach not only brings a sense of fulfillment and purpose, but it also sets the stage for financial success.
Examples of Value Creation
Consider successful businesses and entrepreneurs who have thrived by prioritizing value creation:
1. Apple: The tech giant is renowned for its innovative and user-friendly products, creating value through cutting-edge technology and sleek design.
2. Amazon: By focusing on customer satisfaction and convenience, Amazon has revolutionized the e-commerce industry and become a global powerhouse.
3. Elon Musk: The visionary founder of Tesla and SpaceX has consistently delivered groundbreaking solutions that serve the greater good and advance humanity.
These examples illustrate how prioritizing value creation has propelled these entities to great financial success.
The Money Will Follow
When you prioritize providing value, the money naturally follows. This is because when you genuinely address the needs and desires of others, they are willing to invest in your offerings. Whether it’s through purchasing products, subscribing to services, or supporting your business, people are inclined to compensate value with their financial resources. As a result, financial success becomes a byproduct of providing genuine value.
Shifting Your Mindset
If you find yourself solely fixated on the pursuit of wealth, it’s time to shift your mindset. Instead of chasing money, focus on creating value for others and delivering exceptional experiences. Here’s how you can adjust your approach:
1. Identify a Need: Assess the market and identify areas where you can make a meaningful impact. Look for gaps, problems, or inefficiencies that you can address.
2. Provide Solutions: Develop products or services that directly address the identified needs. Strive to offer unique and valuable solutions that stand out from the competition.
3. Customer-Centric Approach: Prioritize the satisfaction and well-being of your customers. Create experiences that exceed expectations and build long-lasting relationships.
4. Enjoy the Process: Find enjoyment in the process of value creation and serving others. Embrace the journey of making a positive impact and contributing to the betterment of society.
Remember, financial success is a result of providing value and making a positive impact. It’s not about obsessing over wealth, but rather about focusing on fulfilling the needs of others and enjoying the process along the way. Life is a journey, so savor the experience of creating value and let the money naturally follow. By adopting this mindset, not only will you have the potential to achieve financial success, but you’ll also find genuine fulfillment and purpose in your endeavors.
100% agree.
Yes, absolutely agree…. but maybe you don’t realize this until you’ve gone down the path a bit ? Things definitely look different looking back than when I was struggling to move forward. Either way — thanks for the advice…. it’s a great reminder of all the journeys I’ve taken and now looking back, seeing that the journey is indeed the reward (although that doesn’t pay the bills) and the money comes once you find that thing to fix.
anyway here is my guide how to become happy in life for only 99.99 ….
Well put. You can’t fault people for trying to be self-sufficient though. Especially when it’s easier to make money now than ever
I think most of the problem is that people really care about becoming wealthy and don’t really care about solving problems or contributing to their community or society.
Agree, but I don’t think it’s as simple as that. Creating value generates demand from customers, but you also need a commercial focus on the business to transform sales from
customers into profit.
I’m regularly in contact with small businesses making millions in sales, but not translating that into profit. They are not focused enough on cashflows.
To be successful, you need to do both.
Focus on creating extraordinary value for both customers and business and you’ll be unstoppable.
It’s always about the Services not the money…that’s my Motto. This also helps u handle dissatified customers in a more approproate way…..eyes on quality service always
As someone who’s built multiple companies / had multiple exits, I disagree, you need to do both, especially if you’re going the VC route and hyper scaling
The game is as much as selling your stock as selling your product
You’ll end up with 2-5x less money if you focus only on clients and don’t optimise for equity value
Unless you’re building a lifestyle business
I believe it’s ok and also should be your goal to be motivated by multiple things.
It’s fine if you do it, because you enjoy it, because you wanna help people, buy a house for your mom, get respect from your peers ***and*** do well for yourself.
Providing value alone is not also not gonna be enough either. You need to be able to ask for enough value in return and build an organisation that can deliver your value in a cost effective way.
Happiness in my opinion is like 70-80% your world view. The rest is being able to work out, be in daylight, have a social group. Of course after some basic income is met to cover food, living etc.
One concept that recently resonated with me was that of.
“Turn your life into a business”
Take your favorite parts of your life and ask yourself what is it that you would do even if you didn’t have to and would do if you had all the money you wanted … those are typically hobbies and interests you have, if you can turn your passions into a business, as they say… you’ll never work a day in your life.
Be patient, be hungry. Good post OP
Exactly, entrepreneurship is about solving problems, that’s the heart of it, wealth is a consequence.
Wealth can be a good goal, but one must remember to disect it into subgoals. It’s the subgoals which are the goals which will generate money. Aka value. Focus on pleasing needs where there is a high cashflow and the money will come.
Agreed. the more you solve problems, create awesome experiences, or build incredible products, the more people notice and reward you. Starting a passion around something your passionate about makes this a lot easier too!
This was a previous boss issue. His goal was to build a company and get bought out by a larger company to make a million dollars. He failed spectaculary over and over again and sold the business for probably 200k or thereabouts.
True that. I don’t think any iconic founder ever started a business after Googling “what business makes a lot of money quick fast and in a hurry so I can ball on these moes?”
If you’re not in it for the joy of delighting the customers you’re seeking to serve better than the others and have a passion for the industry/work you are doing and only in it for the money it makes it hard to stick through the hard times, or even get started.
Also a lot of young people are more attracted to being able to say “I’m the CEO of x” and their business isn’t even a corporation. Titles, status, wealth, financial freedom are the wrong reasons to start. They are just inevitable byproducts of serving happy customers better than the closest alternative.
They are inspired by too much Andrew Tate videos 😂
This worked for me. It feels better when I’m taking action in this way, like service FEELS good. And it’s also when my business started working.
Yes like every young kid..until reality slaps them in the face with a wet smelly cum ridden rag!
Chase success. Not money. When you’re successful the money will follow. Everything takes time. It might take time to get successful. But when you are finally….yep.
Yup
Providing value is pretty synonymous to obsessing over getting rich.
Why do people want to provide value? So that others will consume their services. Why do they want people to consume their services? Because they want money.
The 18 year olds seeking advice on how to become a millionaire within an unrealistic short time window are just idiots that don’t really know how the world works. Their posts are best to be just outright ignored.
Doesn’t always work. There are many types of business where you provide a lot of value and don’t make good money.
You need to provide value to people with money.
I don’t think that’s how most rich people got rich 🙂
Besides the Lord, being there for people, family, and friends, focus on passion.
Thanks I’ll eat grass in the meantime
From what I noticed by reading books by and about billionaires, most of them just did what they liked and provided value. They weren’t looking for get rich schemes.
Nothing wrong with obsessing over becoming wealthy
