Hey everyone! 👋 Have you ever experienced a situation where the company seemed more concerned about making an extra dollar than ensuring the well-being of its employees? My coworker and I recently encountered a concerning issue on the night shift that got us thinking, “Company got to make that extra dollar, doesn’t matter who gets sick.”
Here’s the situation we faced:
– The cooler at work was really hot, causing the food to bulge and spoil.
– We took initiative to move the food that needed to be cold to the back of the cooler.
– Two days later, we noticed the same food with new labels on them.
It’s disheartening to see that shortcuts are being taken when it comes to food safety and employee health. But we believe that there are ways to address this issue and ensure a safer work environment for everyone. Here are some possible solutions that we thought of:
– Implementing stricter food safety protocols and guidelines.
– Providing proper training for employees on handling and storing food.
– Encouraging open communication and teamwork to address any issues promptly.
What do you think could be done to improve the situation and prevent such incidents from happening in the future? Share your thoughts and let’s spark a discussion on promoting a safe and ethical workplace environment! 💡 #SafetyFirst #HealthyWorkplace
That is likely a food safety violation u can and probably should call whatever organization handles that. Idk where u are so I can’t say for sure obviously
Call the health department / food inspector
i already do not trust packaged sandwiches. three different expiry dates would be a nope from me!
Whistleblow on the MFs
that bulging is bad. It means growth of small little critters. (bacterial growth releases gasses. This is likely what we are seeing here( This is a call your local health dept immediately thing. This could kill or seriously sicken someone. IF this is a large chain a call to the corporate tip line might also be in order. That’s totally up to you and whether or not you think it would do anything.
I have a family member who worked in the dairy business in the US and he stated that when they would get back sour cream that had passed its date and was returned from the grocery store, they would pop the lid off and replace it with a new lid that had a new expiration date on it because there was a secondary plastic seal under the lid. So, don’t trust anything that doesn’t have the expiration date printed on the actual container that contains the product.
Dog it would be moldy by then. Ive seen a pastry that expired last month and it’s covered in mold
What company is this? For my own safety.
Call the health inspector. I’ve done it on my place of employment and the money to fix things magically appeared 🤷🏻♀️
