Picture this: you’re typing away, racing to get your email just right, only to press send prematurely. It’s like sending a half-baked cake to a bake-off – not a good look.
So, here’s what you should do: write your email first, proofread it at least twice, and only then add the recipient’s address. It’s like adding the perfect cherry on top of an email sundae. I added a 3 minute delay for my outgoing emails for me to catch mistakes.
Any email that isn’t a quick easy reply muuuuuust be done that way. And it’s not just to avoid sending something that has the wrong tone or with added emotion, but also to avoid stupid follow up “oops, forgot to add this.”’type ones that mess up a thread. Nothing worse than forcing your colleagues to decide which one to reply to because they WILL pick different ones and then you have multiple threads which make searching for specific emails a pain. Don’t be that guy.
