This is crazy 😱! Can you believe what happened during this Sr. Recruiter interview process? Here’s the rundown:
– Initial phone screen was more about explaining the position than technical questions.
– Reached out directly to the hiring manager on LinkedIn.
– Waited a week and a half only to receive an automated rejection email with no explanation.
As someone with 10 years of experience in recruiting, this is mind-boggling. But fear not, here’s a possible solution that might help in similar situations:
– Ask for feedback: Reach out to the company and politely request feedback on why you weren’t selected.
– Learn from the experience: Take note of what you can improve on for future interviews.
– Keep networking: Stay connected with professionals in your field for future opportunities.
Have you ever experienced something like this? What do you think could be the reason behind the sudden rejection? Let’s discuss! 🤔 #RecruitingFails #ProfessionalDevelopment
Same thing happened to me. Met the criteria, applied, 24 hours later I did a phone screen with the recruiter, she agreed I met the requirements, salary was fine, willing to relocate too. A day later I got an auto rejected email without even speaking with the hiring manager, it’s depressing.
Yup. They are looking for cheap people until it turns around then all their HR leaves. Happens all the time. Been a recruiter for IT about 12 years
There’s still too much supply for Recruiters and not enough demand. And a lot of over qualified recruiters willing to take pay cuts. But companies don’t want to hire out of concern that folks will just leave on 6-12 months when they find something more aligned with their experience and comp.
They had probably picked the other candidate anyway and forgot to send the no thank you letter.
I don’t disclose my past FAANG salary anymore. The role wasn’t meant for you, but great you have other final interviews! Good luck and hope you land something soon!
I saw an HR Business Partner role from a tech company paying 79k MAXIMUM (Range was 58ish-79) and when you read the description… you literally do all of HR every single thing that would take a dept. to do. You don’t wear a million hats, you are the million hats. The market is wild
