#WorkBoundaries #OffTheClock #RespectMyTime
Hey everyone, have you ever dealt with work calls coming in after hours? 📞 It can be frustrating, right? I mean, we work hard during our scheduled hours and deserve to disconnect when we’re off the clock.
I totally relate to this post I found online – my bosses have a habit of calling once I’m done for the day, and it’s starting to get on my nerves. But I’ve come up with a solution that might help others in a similar situation:
Here’s what I’ve been doing to set some boundaries and maintain my sanity:
– I don’t answer my phone when I’m not on the clock 🚫⏰
– If it’s an urgent matter, they can shoot me a text instead 📱
– I only respond to time-sensitive requests after hours
– And if it’s not urgent, it can wait until my next shift 😉
What do you think? Do you have any other suggestions on how to deal with after-hours work calls? Let’s share our tips and help each other out! 💼🔒
Start entering this time on your timesheet in 15 min increments
You got it sussed, *this* is how it should be done..👍
That’s fair.
Can your phone set up days/times when it will not notify you of their call or texts at all? So, let’s say your workday is noon-6pm, then your phone will automatically stop ALL notifications from work people between 6pm-noon the next day. That way, you’re not even aware that they tried to get you.
As a diesel mechanic I would always answer my phone. But after hours were double time, so I had no issues taking on easy work where I get paid more to drive than to actually do the job.
Your time is valuable, tell them to make it worth it.
Right on. Hold the line bud
